China's Urumqi in Xinjiang Region Cracks Down on Illegal Crypto Mining Rig Maintenance Site, Seizes 310 Devices on the Spot

BlockBeats News, March 30th. The High-tech Zone (Xinshi District) Sub-bureau of Urumqi Public Security Bureau reported on the 26th of this month that during a patrol in Ergong Township, a site suspected of illegally repairing electronic "mining rigs" was discovered. The police found an abnormal warehouse in Yuhang Road, Xinshi District, where a large number of disassembled and waiting-to-be-repaired mining rig equipment was stacked, allegedly violating China's relevant ban on the production, sale, repair, lease, and hosting of "mining rigs."

During the law enforcement process, the police also found serious safety hazards at the site, including illegal power connections, fire protection facilities not undergoing annual inspection as required, and the absence of a fire management system, posing a significant risk of fire and electric shock.

Upon inventory, a total of 310 mining rig equipment awaiting repair were lawfully seized on the scene, and relevant evidence has been secured, with the parties involved ordered to immediately cease their illegal activities. Currently, the case has been transferred to relevant departments for further processing.
