The number of US troops stationed in the Middle East has exceeded 50,000.

BlockBeats News, March 30th. According to The New York Times, with the arrival of 2,500 Marine Corps troops and an additional 2,500 Navy sailors, the United States has more than 50,000 troops in the Middle East, about 10,000 more than usual. Although it is currently unclear what specific tasks the Marine Corps troops from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit will undertake, U.S. officials have stated that Trump is considering whether to launch a larger-scale offensive, such as attempting to seize an island or other land, as part of Trump's actions to open the Strait of Hormuz.
