Survey: US Workplace Confidence in Job Market Is Crumbling, with Only 28% of Employees Optimistic about Job Prospects

BlockBeats News, March 29th, KobeissiLetter released a data analysis stating that the confidence of American workers in the job market is collapsing: according to the latest Gallup survey, in the fourth quarter of 2025, only 28% of American employees believe "now is a good time to find a quality job," the lowest level in at least 4 years. This proportion has dropped significantly by 42 percentage points since the second quarter of 2022.


American employees with a college degree are the most pessimistic, with only 19% of degree holders believing that now is a good time to find a quality job, compared to 73% in the second quarter of 2022. The proportion of employees without a college degree is 35%, also the lowest level in 4 years. Confidence among young employees is the lowest at 20%, while the proportion for employees aged 65 and older is 41%. Americans' pessimism about the job market has reached historically rare levels.
