According to 1M AI News monitoring, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, when asked in the Lex Fridman Podcast why the Chinese technology ecosystem has been able to hatch so many world-class companies in the past decade, referred to China as the "fastest-innovating nation in the world today" and a "builder nation."
He summarized several structural factors: around half of the world's AI researchers are Chinese; China's tech industry emerged precisely during the era of mobile internet and cloud computing, naturally familiar with modern software development; intense competition between provinces and cities has led to the proliferation of many companies ("that's why there are so many electric vehicle companies, so many AI companies"); and the "classmate" culture and tight social networks enable extremely rapid knowledge dissemination, "they have essentially always been open source," so China's significant contribution to the open source community is entirely logical.
Comparing the leadership of the two countries, Jensen Huang said: "Our country's leaders are great, but mostly lawyers. Their country was built from poverty, and most of their leaders are outstanding engineers."
