Vitalik Introduces Ethereum's New Fast Confirmation Rule, Providing Irreversible Guarantee in 12 Seconds

BlockBeats News, March 18th, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin published a post introducing a new Ethereum fast confirmation rule mechanism. This mechanism allows users to receive a hard guarantee that Ethereum transactions will not be reverted (Non-revert) after only one Slot (12 seconds). The mechanism is expected to be successively implemented and launched in various consensus layer clients in the coming months without the need for a hard fork.

Vitalik pointed out that the security of this rule is based on two premises: first, the vast majority of validators are honest nodes, and second, network latency is less than about 3 seconds. Although its security is slightly lower than economic finality, it already has extremely high reliability for many use cases.
