Anthropic is opening a permanent office in Washington D.C. and will triple the size of its public policy team.

BlockBeats News, March 11th, according to Axios, Anthropic is expanding its presence in the U.S. capital in preparation for the U.S. midterm elections. Anthropic will triple the size of its policy team and open a permanent office in Washington this spring to facilitate long-term engagement with policymakers and think tanks.

Anthropic's newly appointed Head of Public Policy, Sarah Heck, stated: "The pace of AI development is surpassing that of any prior technology, and the window to get the policy right is closing." Heck is taking over from co-founder Jack Clark and will report to President and Co-founder Daniela Amodei.
