Claude Code has added/btw a sidechain chat feature, allowing questions to be asked without interrupting the task at hand

BlockBeats News, March 11th - Developer Lydia Hallie announced that Claude now supports a new feature for quickly asking questions during the current session, allowing users to query AI without interrupting the main task.

According to the introduction, this feature is implemented through the new /btw command, introduced by the developer Thariq. Users can initiate a side-chain conversation while Claude is performing a task to ask temporary questions.

This mode is in a read-only state, does not invoke tools, and does not write to the main conversation history; once the user closes the window, the related answers will automatically disappear.
