According to 1M AI News, open-source AI application and Agent workflow development platform Dify has announced the completion of a $30 million Pre-A round of financing, with a valuation of $1.8 billion. This round was led by HongShan (formerly Sequoia Capital China), with participation from GL Ventures, Alt-Alpha Capital (a new fund spun out from Bessemer Venture Partners), Panorama Capital, Mizuho Leaguer Investment, and NYX Ventures.
Dify provides a visual workflow builder that combines cue management, tool integration, knowledge retrieval, and observability as part of its production-grade infrastructure to help teams advance AI applications from prototype to production. The platform, launched in 2023, is currently one of the highest-starred open-source projects on GitHub, with over 1.4 million machine deployments globally. Over 2,000 teams and 280 enterprises are using its commercial version, with customers including shipping firm Maersk, educational testing service ETS, consumer electronics brand Anker Innovations, and pharmaceutical company Novartis.
Dify's founder and CEO, Luyu Zhang, stated that the funds will be used to integrate cutting-edge Agent capabilities into the core product, establish a dedicated enterprise product team focused on performance and compliance, introduce a developer community support program, and continue to lower the adoption barriers for teams.
