Tether has announced that it will cease support for the offshore Chinese Yuan stablecoin CNHT, with redemptions still available for one year.

BlockBeats News, February 21, Tether officially announced that to ensure the alignment of its product suite with real-world use, long-term sustainability, and community demand, it has decided to cease support for CNHT (offshore Chinese Yuan stablecoin). This transition will occur in two phases:

· Immediate Effect: Cease all new issuances of CNHT· One year later: Cease support for CNHT redemptions (further reminders will be provided before the redemption deadline)

Tether stated that this decision was based on changing market conditions, low product adoption, and limited community demand. "The usage of CNHT is insufficient to justify its continued operation and support to the standards required of a Tether product."

Users holding CNHT are encouraged to redeem their holdings before the deadline. Tether will continue to focus on stablecoins and infrastructure with strong organic adoption and long-term relevance, including core stablecoin liquidity, tokenization infrastructure, and new financial instruments.
