BlockBeats News, January 22, according to Bloomberg, AI startup Inferact, founded by the vLLM open-source software team, has completed a $150 million seed round of funding at an $8 billion valuation. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Lightspeed, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and True Ventures.
Inferact focuses on the inference stage of artificial intelligence, aiming to address the high operational costs and instability of existing AI models. The project originated from the University of California, Berkeley and is currently overseen by the PyTorch Foundation.
