BlockBeats News, January 2nd, the Trust Wallet browser extension has been temporarily delisted from the Google Chrome Web Store, leading to a delay in the release of an updated version intended to support victims of a recent security incident.
Trust Wallet CEO Eowyn Chen stated that the delay was due to a technical issue on Google's end, not a new security incident. "We encountered a system failure on the Chrome Web Store when releasing the new version," Chen explained in a post on Platform X. She stated that this update includes tools to allow affected users to verify and submit claims for compensation related to the Christmas hack event. Until the revised extension is approved for reinstatement, Chen urged users to remain vigilant, warning that during the absence of the official version, fake Trust Wallet extensions may appear on the Chrome Web Store.
