BlockBeats News, December 12th: Director Carl Rinsch, who previously directed the 2013 movie "47 Ronin" starring Keanu Reeves, has been convicted of telecommunications fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors accused Rinsch of embezzling $11 million received from Netflix and using some of the funds to purchase cryptocurrency. A previous report claimed that Carl Rinsch used $4 million of the funds to invest in Dogecoin, eventually profiting $27 million, but later squandered most of the profits on luxury goods.
Rinsch faces a maximum sentence of 90 years and will be officially sentenced on April 17, 2026.
