Bastion announces providing Sony Bank with stablecoin issuance, reserve management, and custody services

BlockBeats News, December 2nd – Stablecoin service provider Bastion announced a strategic partnership with Sony Bank Corporation (Sony Bank) to provide stablecoin services to Sony's affiliate companies. Bastion will be responsible for facilitating stablecoin issuance, reserve management, and custody services on a large scale for Sony Bank.

In September 2025, Bastion completed a $14.6 million financing round with Coinbase leading the investment. Sony's venture capital division, the venture capital division of South Korean mobile phone manufacturer Samsung, a16z Crypto, and the cryptocurrency venture capital firm Hashed also participated.
