Donald Trump: Hopes Apple Will Stop Moving iPhone Production to India

BlockBeats News, May 15th, according to foreign media reports, U.S. President Trump said that he has asked Apple CEO Tim Cook to stop building factories in India. Trump, during a state visit to Qatar, mentioned his conversation with Apple's CEO, saying: "I had a little friction with Cook yesterday. He is building factories all over India. And I don't want them to be building in India."

Trump stated that after this exchange, Apple will "increase production in the United States." Trump also pointed out that India is one of the countries with the highest global tariff barriers, making it "very difficult" to sell American products in that country. However, he added that India has proposed reducing tariffs on American products in an attempt to reach a trade deal on import duties. (FX Street)
