Irys Launches Programmable Data Chain Testnet to Address AI Key Bottleneck

BlockBeats News, January 29th, according to official sources, Irys has launched the first programmable data chain tailored for AI, with a native EVM execution layer and infinite data capacity. The Irys testnet has achieved 100,000 TPS, which is 6000 times faster than Filecoin and 20 times cheaper than Arweave. Irys has announced the launch of its programmable data chain testnet, which is the first L1 blockchain designed to combine low-cost, scalable storage with EVM-compatible execution to address a key bottleneck in AI.

Irys Founder and CEO Josh Benaron stated, "Irys is aimed at enabling AI to achieve entirely new application scenarios through programmability. AI is capable of generating infinite digital content, and blockchain ensures that this content is verifiable and scarce. Irys is not just storage; it enables intelligent agents to communicate with each other, share memories, and break down isolated barriers. When agents can discover and learn from each other, they become exponentially smarter. This is just one of the application scenarios."

Irys is the first programmable L1 data chain that surpasses the existing L1 models and is specifically designed for AI. By combining a low-cost storage layer with a high-performance, EVM-compatible execution layer (IrysVM), Irys achieves data programmability that no other data chain has achieved. Built by the Bundlr team, which successfully increased Arweave's daily transaction volume from 10,000 to 15 million and supported 98% of its activity, Irys has raised $8.9 million to date and is backed by Lemniscap, Framework Ventures, Primitive Ventures, among others.
