BlockBeats reported that on September 19, Tether announced a strategic investment of $1.5 million in Sorted Wallet, a platform designed to provide users in emerging markets with easy access to cryptocurrencies, which will enhance financial inclusion in Africa and South Asia.
Sorted Wallet is designed for feature phones and low-end smartphones, providing non-custodial wallet services to help individuals without bank accounts and underserved by banks in developing regions to trade cryptocurrencies. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the move will provide new opportunities for basic mobile phone users to participate in the financial system.
