Solana developers, validators, and client teams worked together to patch a critical vulnerability on Wednesday

BlockBeats news, August 9, according to The Block, Solana developers, validators, and client teams worked together to resolve a serious security vulnerability.

Solana validator Laine said that the process began on August 7, when the Solana Foundation contacted well-known network operators through private channels. The contact was part of a secret vulnerability patching strategy to prevent the vulnerability from being exploited in any way. The patch is provided through the GitHub repository of Anza engineers, enabling operators to independently verify and apply changes. As of 14:00 UTC on Thursday, August 8, detailed instructions for implementing the patch have been distributed to various stakeholders, ultimately securing 66.6% of the network's equity. The vulnerability was disclosed publicly only after 70% of the network had installed the patch.
