Uniswap Labs urges SEC to halt proposed rulemaking including expansion of definition of “trading platform”

BlockBeats news, on July 10, Uniswap Labs Chief Legal Officer Katherine Minarik posted on social media, "Uniswap Labs today urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) not to proceed with its proposed rulemaking process, which would greatly and inappropriately expand the definition of "trading platform" to include DeFi and more.

For better or worse, the Supreme Court has overturned the Chevron Principles. Even under that principle, the SEC's proposal was flawed - even more so under today's standards. The SEC and the industry as a whole have better ways to use resources than wasting time and energy on a lawsuit that violates the rules. "
