SEC Delays Decision on Bitwise and Grayscale Bitcoin Spot ETF Options Trading Applications
According to BlockBeats, on April 9, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that it would postpone its decision on whether to approve the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to offer Bitcoin spot ETF options trading. The postponement decision affects the options trading applications of Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB), Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), and other trust funds holding Bitcoin on the NYSE.
The SEC stated in the document that "the Commission believes that it is appropriate to specify a longer time to act on the proposed rule changes so that there is sufficient time to consider the proposed rule changes." The SEC will make a decision to approve, reject, or postpone again the rule changes proposed by NYSE on Bitcoin ETF options trading by May 29.
