SlowMist founder: Hardware wallets obtained from unofficial channels are susceptible to tampering, and any pre-set PIN codes carry a risk of fraud.
BlockBeats News, January 14th, SlowMist founder Cosmos posted on the X platform, stating that SlowMist had received several reports of theft. Users must be aware of such risks, as hardware wallets purchased from unofficial stores/channels are prone to tampering. If a user obtains a hardware wallet, they should at least refer to imKey's advice:
· The PIN code should be set by the user, as any pre-created PIN codes carry fraud risks;
· When using a new device for the first time, it must be activated and a mnemonic phrase must be created and backed up, otherwise there is a risk of fraud.
