Cboe is withdrawing its previously filed ETF approval documents, possibly due to the existence of "front-running" behavior.
On January 11th, according to BlockBeats news, Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart stated on social media that Cboe is withdrawing several previously approved documents related to Bitcoin spot ETFs. In response, another analyst Eric Balchunas said that this is a document that looks intimidating but actually carries little significance. It appears as if CBOE is trying to get ahead of the game, while other trading platforms such as Nasdaq have not done so. Therefore, this may have annoyed the SEC, who may want Cboe to wait until they have officially approved the relevant information before releasing it. Earlier today, CBOE announced that it had received and approved applications from Ark Investments/21Shares, SS/Galaxy, VanEck, Fidelity, Franklin, and WisdomTree to list their Bitcoin spot ETFs on its platform. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart stated that this move is not an official approval, but rather part of an accelerated request process.
