ESG-oriented small-scale cryptocurrency asset management company 7RCC has submitted a spot Bitcoin ETF application to the US SEC.

BlockBeats News, December 19th - According to CoinDesk, 7RCC, a small cryptocurrency asset management company focused on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investments, recently submitted an application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a spot Bitcoin and carbon credit futures exchange-traded fund (ETF). Founded in 2021, 7RCC aims to provide a way for ESG-focused investors to enter the cryptocurrency and blockchain-related asset space. The company began preparing its ETF application 18 months ago but waited until it had established the appropriate infrastructure before submitting the application, making it a latecomer compared to other applicants such as Ark 21Shares, Grayscale, and BlackRock. The 7RCC cryptocurrency ETF is different from other applicants in that 80% of its assets will consist of Bitcoin, with the remaining portion holding carbon credit futures. Gemini will provide custody services for the fund's Bitcoin. The application does not mention the custodian of cash or equivalent assets.
