Lido: The root cause of the current forfeiture event has been confirmed, and the Launchnodes team has covered all validator losses with their own funds.
BlockBeats News, October 12th - Lido Finance announced on social media that, after an overnight effort by the Launchnodes team, the situation has stabilized and the remaining parts of the validator infrastructure are slowly recovering. The root cause of the penalty event has been identified, but small details are still being investigated.
Currently, the total penalty amount is 20.04 ETH, expected to increase to 23.06 ETH upon withdrawal. The penalty for infrastructure shutdown and missed rewards (excluding EL rewards) totals 5.663 ETH (including penalties for validators). The Launchnodes team immediately expressed their desire to compensate stakers as soon as possible, and paid out 25.663 ETH before today's rebase, meaning stakers will not see a reduction in daily rewards due to the interruption and reduction.
As previously reported by BlockBeats, Lido Finance, a liquidity staking platform, disclosed earlier today that a series of infrastructure and signature configuration issues with validators operated by Launchnodes resulted in 20 slashing events for its protocol. Lido expects to lose about 20 ETH, worth $31,000, and additional penalties are expected as the validators are investigated for faults.
