Temasek Managing Director: The cryptocurrency industry needs to build constantly innovative infrastructure.
BlockBeats reported on September 14th that Pradyumna Agrawal, Managing Director of Temasek, spoke at the "Institutionalization of Digital Assets" panel at Token2049 in Singapore, stating:
"In terms of key management, personal key management solutions differ from institutional key management solutions when interacting with crypto assets. Institutions will adopt a fully encrypted approach directly facing consumers, and any institution will require certain security protection processes. Cash risk management is still important, and I don't think we can hope for it to disappear.
There are problems with the banking system, but there are also problems with stablecoin issuance systems. Therefore, interesting new technologies need to be built in the crypto field. This is very useful in the context of crypto-native assets, but part of it will also be transferred to more strictly regulated areas and use the best technology there. But we will also learn how to interact with it, and it still needs KYC and AML, and be able to create this new infrastructure.
One thing I want to emphasize is that it will not come with a single leading platform. So it will still come from a completely new infrastructure created by fintech companies or crypto-native companies, and ultimately used by other participants. Now, it may be supported by equity investors or clients, but it will be a completely new infrastructure, and this will vary depending on different approaches."
