Two 17-year-old Canadian teens have been arrested and charged for stealing $4.2 million worth of cryptocurrency.
According to a report by CBC on July 5th, two 17-year-old boys from Hamilton, Canada were arrested and charged with stealing $4.2 million in cryptocurrency. The defendants, who used the aliases "Felon" and "Gaze," impersonated Coinbase Support and conducted a spear-phishing attack to take over a US user's cryptocurrency investment portfolio worth $4.2 million.
According to police, some of the money was used to purchase social media usernames, and the two boys had over $13.4 million in cryptocurrency.
