BlockBeats News, on June 25th, the CEO of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, Ashley Alder, gave a speech regarding Hong Kong's attitude towards Web3 regulation after the bankruptcy of FTX in November 2022. She stated that crypto trading is an important component of the virtual asset ecosystem. A new licensing regime for virtual asset providers will ensure investor protection while taking into account the risks faced by financial institutions. In her view, bringing virtual asset providers under regulatory oversight is the only way to embrace innovation and enhance market trust following the bankruptcy of FTX.
