The latest ACDE meeting of Ethereum: Developers believe that activating the Cancun upgrade in October is a reasonable target time.
BlockBeats news, on May 26th, Christine Kim, the Vice President of Research at Galaxy Digital, summarized the latest Ethereum execution layer core developer meeting (ACDE), including the impact analysis results of EIP-4758 and 6780, the progress of EIP-4844, and the possible inclusion of EIP-5920, 5656, and 7069 in the Cancun upgrade.
Dedaub, a blockchain security company, analyzed the impact of EIP-4758 and EIP-6780, stating that "we believe that the impact of EIP-4758 and EIP-6780 is controllable, and due to the simple implementation of Ethereum clients, it may be positive, especially if EIP-6780 is selected."
In addition, Ethereum Foundation researcher Alex Stokes stated that the reasonable target date for the Cancun activation is October 2023. Lightclient, a developer of Geth (EL), confirmed this statement, stating that the upgrade "has at least 5-6 months based on its current scope."
Core developer Tim Beiko suggested that developers should re-discuss the conversation around the Cancun upgrade scope in future conference calls. He also suggested that future conversations about expanding the Cancun scope should only be limited to the following five EIPs: EIP-5920, 5656, 7069, 4788, and 2530.
