The MakerDAO community approved a governance vote to add GNO as a collateral asset for the Spark Protocol.
BlockBeats reported on May 21 that the MakerDAO community has approved a governance vote to add GNO as a collateral asset for the Spark Protocol. The proposal will be executed on-chain through a voting process.
As previously reported by BlockBeats on May 9, MakerDAO announced the launch of the Spark Protocol, a DeFi lending protocol centered around the stablecoin DAI. Spark is a forked version of the Aave V3 lending protocol, with direct lending functionality integrated into MakerDAO. Through Spark, users can obtain DAI loans using assets such as ETH, stETH, and DAI. Spark operates independently from MakerDAO's primary mechanism, which only allows users to generate new DAI as overcollateralized debt.
