Crypto custody platform Zodia Custody completes $36 million Series A funding round, led by SBI.
On April 27th, Zodia Custody, a cryptocurrency custody platform owned by Standard Chartered, completed a $36 million Series A funding round with Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings as the lead investor. SBI Holdings is now the second largest shareholder in Zodia Custody, and the funds raised will be used to expand into regions beyond Europe and Asia, with a particular interest in opportunities in the Middle East. However, due to "uncertainty in the regulatory roadmap," the United States is excluded from foreseeable expansion plans. The funds will also be used to add more digital assets to Zodia's coverage.
