The Senate in the US state of Mississippi has passed a bill to legalise crypto mining
BlockBeats, February 10, according to Blockworks, lawmakers in the U.S. Senate of Mississippi passed a bill to legalize crypto asset mining and protect miners from biased energy prices. If approved by House members and signed by Governor Tate Reeves, The law takes effect July 1.
The bill says the state's public Service Commission is not allowed to set discriminatory rates for crypto mining companies, which can use the same electricity rates as other industrial uses. Individuals or entities in the business of mining digital assets will be exempt from registering with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
