Ripple class action latest progress: XRP securities property issue is still inconclusive

Block pulsations BlockBeats news, according to Decrypt, on January 16, the court heard Ripple's arguments in a class action lawsuit against Ripple and agreed to accept the motion Ripple is filing.

In the suit, investors allege that XRP was sold as "unregistered securities" and was entitled to compensation as well as a return on the investment. Ripple filed a motion in August asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit. In response, Jake Chervinsky, general counsel of DeFi platform Compound, said that even if Ripple won the lawsuit, it would not make much sense. The question of whether XRP is a security was not raised in Ripple's motion.
