excerpts
Ethereum remains the most important smart contract blockchain. In 2019, its dapp ecosystem grew its daily user base by 118 percent and daily transactions by 166 percent.
Ethereum is also the only blockchain to have successfully developed dapp in four major categories (DeFi, exchanges, gaming, gambling, and high risk) to date.
Dapps performance on the EOS blockchain was severely affected by congestion caused by EIDOS token network spam. Resulting in a 48 percent drop in daily user activity.
The wave field dapp ecosystem grew strongly in the first half of 2019, but then showed a decline. Overall, its user base grew 93%, mostly in gambling and high-risk areas.
In 2019, there are no other emerging smart contract blockchains to demonstrate the continued use of dapp.
1. Overview of Dapp ecology in 2019
There are many ways to measure the success of the blockchain domain and the individual blockchains below it.
At DappRadar, we believe the best measure of success is the vitality of the dapp ecosystem on each blockchain.
We don't expect the dapp ecosystem to be the main reason for blockchain's success, given that the industry is still in its infancy, but in this initial stage of 2019, we'd like to see some signs of a future dapp industry boom that will eventually drive blockchain development.
It is against this background that our first annual report has just come out.
temperament
Structurally, this report focuses on ethereum's dapp ecosystem.
As the first smart contract blockchain, ethereum is a great reference for the number of dapps deployed in 2019, the depth of the development community, and the growth of users and value.
Overall for 2019, ethereum's dapp ecosystem saw a 118 percent increase in daily active independent wallets and a 166 percent increase in daily transactions.
Ethereum is also the only blockchain to have successfully developed dapp in four major categories (DeFi, exchanges, gaming, gambling, and high risk) to date.
That doesn't mean ethereum is the ideal blockchain for dapp. Ethereum's sharp rise in fuel costs in September suggests that dapp, which runs on the blockchain, remains vulnerable to systemic factors.
However, 2019 has been a very successful year for the ethereum dapp ecosystem, as evidenced by the explosive growth of the DeFi industry as highlighted in many headlines.
Now, based on the results of DappRadar's new token tracking analysis, we estimate that the daily value of its dapp ecosystem (in terms of cumulative daily token throughput) now exceeds $10 billion.
Two of ethereum's competitors
However, the situation is not good for EOS and wave fields.
Although EOS and wave field have been labeled "ethereum killers" by many, they are still working to expand their user base and increase the value of dapp.
However, the frequently cited technical advantages of their entrusted equity proof methods in terms of transaction times and transaction throughput have proved problematic.
EOS is not doing well, having suffered severe network congestion since November 1 in what appears to be a deliberate DDOS attack. Two months after the launch of EIDOS tokens, daily activity in most (though not all) categories of EOS dapp continues to decline strongly.
And in addition to the mysterious cancellation of a much-anticipated charity dinner between its founders, Justin Sun and Warren Buffett, wave field has made fewer headlines in 2019.
However, while the total number of daily active independent wallets on dapp showed strong growth from January to December, all major dapp wave fields showed signs of decline in the second half of the year.
The data show that while many wave field dapps (from games to exchanges and gambling dapps) have enjoyed good momentum at launch, most have failed to sustain their audiences. As a result, as at the beginning of the year, wave field dapp will be mainly used for gambling until the end of 2019.
Of course, there are many other smart contract blockchains, all in various stages of development and deployment, and all with strong plans for future success.
Currently, DappRadar tracks dapp on 11 blockchains, and more blockchains will be added in 2020, when we will see which of these emerging technologies will break through.
In this report, we also briefly describe some of these competitors.
2. Ethereum: from a year-round perspective
From today's perspective, you can see that 2019 was the year ethereum promised a lot but delivered little.
From the point of view of the agreement and the final price, the excitement over the successful deployment of the hard fork of Constantinople and the ETH price recovery of $200 (a brief mid-year increase of $300) proved short-lived.

Istanbul (Istanbul) hard bifurcate successfully completed in December, but there is no big influence on the price in the first time, which makes the etheric lane of the bulls in the hope of Serenity (previously known as the etheric lane 2.0) upgrade, the upgrade will start delivery in the first quarter of 2020 the etheric lane 2.0, but may have until 2022 to complete.
For those who don't care about ETH prices, ethereum is good news. Daily trading volumes rose more than 200% for the full year of 2019, despite a fall in prices in November.
Other positive aspects include the almost complete transition of the Tether stable coin from its original Omni avatar, which runs on the bitcoin blockchain, to the ERC20 variant of ethereum; Transactions will be faster and cheaper.
This is a factor in the so-called ethereum Flippening, in which the number of transactions on ethereum's blockchain involving its ETH cryptocurrency is outstripped by the number of transactions based on ethereum's ERC20 tokens.
It symbolizes ethereum's growing usefulness as a dapp platform.
Ironically, the demo also had a ripple effect, increasing the number of daily transactions, making the network unable to cope with peak demand.
This was most evident with the launch of dfairwin, a high-stakes gambling app, in September. FairWin launched a spam-like attack on the network for a few weeks until its smart contracts were exhausted, after which ethereum's fuel bill more than doubled.

Fortunately, this does not reduce activity in all dapp categories, but it does highlight long-discussed issues related to the logic of running applications on a common blockchain, where a few high-value transactions compete with many low-value transactions for limited resources.
Of course, September's fuel price increase doesn't seem to have affected DeFi and exchange dapp, but overall activity for gaming and gambling dapp has fallen sharply.
Ethereum dapps: users
However, when considering the overall dapp ecosystem activity in ethereum, these issues proved to be minor compared to the overall high level of optimism.
Overall, the number of active wallets interacting daily on all ethereum dapps rose 118 percent to more than 19,000 as of mid-december.
The increase was most pronounced in the first half of 2019. In particular, the rise in ETH prices has boosted trading activity on dapp, the exchange, which peaked at nearly 20,000 a day in May. Higher fuel costs pushed daily activity below 9,000 in September, but it has since recovered, hitting a year-high of more than 22,500 in early December.

The growth was driven mainly by blockchain gaming, which saw a strong uptrend throughout the year, up 123 per cent overall, despite being hit hard by fuel costs in September.
In the face of this growth, game developer Double Jump.Tokyo's My Crypto Heroes increased its user base from a few hundred players in January to more than 3,500 in December, thanks to the launch of a monthly VIP Prime subscription (priced at 0.1 ETH per month).
It is by far the most popular ethereum dapp of 2019, and the only one in all categories with more than 1,000 active wallet users per day.

The main dapp categories for ethereum in 2019 are broken down as follows:
· gaming and marketing accounted for 50% of total daily activity, up 195%
· gambling and high-risk dapps accounted for 22% of the activity, an increase of 78%
· exchanges accounted for 20%, up 26%
· DeFi accounts for 6%, up 529%
Ethereum dapps: value
As mentioned earlier, while user activity is an important metric, it is not the only one.
Measuring the number of tokens interacting with the smart contracts running on ethereum helps highlight its importance as a network for storing and creating digital currency and financial value.
DappRadar has been tracking the number of ETH cryptocurrencies, but as the dapp ecosystem matures in 2019, it's clear that the ERC20 tokens (not the ETH) account for most of ethereum's value.
As a result, DappRadar started tracking the value of all alternative tokens through ethereum smart contracts in the middle of the year.
Now, for the first time, we present these data, which also corrects our previous understanding of ethereum's dapp ecosystem.
The total value of ethereum's dapp tokens in 2019 was $1.8 billion, up 202% in dollar terms.
However, during the DappRadar tracking period of ERC20 tokens (beginning June 1, 2019), the total value of such activities was $7.2 billion, an increase of 166 percent over that period.
Taken together, the total value of the entire ethereum ecosystem of ETH and ERC20 tokens for six months is $6.9 billion.
On that basis, the total value of ethereum's dapp ecosystem was more than $10 billion in 2019.

The total semi-annual value is broken down by category as follows:
· exchanges accounted for 50% of the total value, down 40%
· DeFi accounts for 45% of the total value, an increase of nearly 1,990%
· gambling and high risk accounted for 3% of the total value, a decrease of 71%
· games and markets accounted for less than 1% of the total value, an increase of 87%
As a result, DeFi has again emerged as the most prominent category, experiencing phenomenal growth, with daily turnover in this category rising from around $2.5 million to nearly $50 million.
DeFi
Ethereum's DeFi category has generated a lot of headlines, and this category is clearly one of the major trends for 2019. But it's important to delve into the details of this category and determine what actually happened (and didn't).
The first thing to consider is the user base.
DeFi started in 2019 as a small element of ethereum's dapp ecosystem with a separate daily activity wallet. On average, MakerDAO USES more than 100 wallets a day, while the Compound USES about 50.
In fact, in the whole of 2019, DeFi dapp only had more than 1,000 visitors per day for two days. On November 18 and 19, when MakerDAO officially started multi-mortgage.
More specifically, in the second half of 2019, MakerDAO averaged about 250 daily single transactions, Compound about 400, and dYdX about 175.
Obviously, even in the context of blockchain, these products have not yet attracted a large number of users.
It is worth noting that because they are interrelated products, known as the DeFi stack, it is not possible to add a single sum of the three dapps to provide a reliable estimate of the total DeFi audience. According to DappRadar, each "unique wallet" is unique only on the basis of each dapp.
Most MakerDAO users interact with Compound or dYdX. The correlation is obvious, since daily activity spikes tend to occur on three dapps at once.
For example, users use MakerDAO to pledge ETH to DAI, and then typically lend the DAI to Compound through interfaces such as InstaDapp and Zerion for margin trading on dYdX.
Looking at the data, it's clear that far more people are using dapp at the end of 2019 than at the start of the year.
The introduction of multi-mortgage DAI has generated a lot of repercussions on MakerDAO. The picture is more mixed, with strong growth leveling off in July and August before easing off at the end of the year. This may be driven by a combination of falling interest rates and increased competition.

Similarly, after the launch of dYdX in April 2019, daily orders steadily increased, reaching about 150 in August and dropping back to about 100 in December.
So, despite increasing resources being invested in these products, DeFi dapps remains the preserve of a few highly educated, high-value cryptocurrency investors.
In terms of the daily value of such dapps, it won't be great until November 2019. As the main engine for all DeFi activity, the regular spikes in MakerDAO drive a wide range of activity, but it was not until the introduction of DAI that the concern was raised.

Of course, given that MakerDAO was designed to create DAI stability COINS through ETH collateral, the recorded value stream can work both ways by using MKR tokens to repay the original DAI loans and interest owed.
There is no doubt that the launch of multi-mortgage DAI has prompted many users to close existing loans and create new ones.
Similarly, when we look at other DeFi dapps, such as Compound and dYdX, the position in 2019 as the year of DeFi explosion becomes more subtle. With the launch of DAI, both dapps have seen a drop in daily users and total value.

In this context, it remains to be seen how the DeFi category will evolve in 2020, whether it is the overall impact of MakerDAO or whether the next generation of products will be able to expand the user base from the current hundreds to thousands.
Games and markets
In terms of tracking dapp, games and markets are the most popular, along with the biggest category on ethereum.
This is partly due to the early success of games such as CryptoKitties, plus the inherent interest of game developers in trying to take full advantage of any new technology.
In fact, the ethereum gaming ecosystem is still very much alive, with dozens of new games being released in 2019, and games like Axie Infinity (fantasy creatures) and Blockchain Cuties celebrating their first anniversary with a passionate and growing following.
In 2019, ethereum consolidated its dominant position in blockchain gaming as the competitive advantages of blockchain such as EOS and TRON faded.

Of course, when we talk about games on ethereum, for the most part, we're not talking about the entire game running on the blockchain. More often, developers use ethereum to acquire and trade ownership of irreplaceable tokens like items and characters in the game.
Therefore, in this report, we have created a composite category that includes games and markets. Most of the activity in markets such as OpenSea revolves around trading game items. Especially CryptoKitties, My Crypto Heroes and Gods Unchained.
However, this user activity is not reflected in monetization, and few games run their own ERC20 tokens.
A case in point is the trading card game Gods Unchained.
While all the press is reporting that it sold its Gods Unchained Genesis card in 12 months, and that the $6 million it raised in the process was a huge success, that's not much compared to the value created by other dapp categories.
exchange
Decentralized exchanges (or DEXes) are relatively simple compared to DeFi dapps. People use them to trade tokens.
The popularity of most exchanges is highly correlated with the price of tokens, so it's no surprise that when ETH prices soared above $300, trading on the most popular exchanges peaked in early July.
Similarly, as ETH prices fall for the rest of 2019, so do the day-to-day activities of traditional exchanges like IDEX.
Of course, this is not the whole story of the category, as new and completely different products like Kyber and Uniswap have attracted a wider audience.
By 2019, Kyber had become the most popular "exchange," with more than 600 wallet days.
Taking 30-day user data from each exchange and averaging those 30 days, you can see that Kyber is particularly popular with users.

The figure shows that IDEX is clearly surpassed by Kyber and Uniswap when considering the daily value each exchange attracts.
In addition, Kyber and Uniswap can be considered part of the emerging exchange category that works "well" with DeFidapps. It may even be said that the liquidity characteristics of Uniswap mean that it should be classified as DeFi dapp.

However, given the performance of ethereum exchange dapps in 2019, Oasis Trade is an inevitable player.
In the first half of this year, it was called Eth2dai, which allows only ETH and DAI transactions and is part of MakerDAO's own DeFi stack.
Later renamed Oasis Trade, it was restarted on November 18 as a dapp for creating multi-mortgage DAI, effectively replacing the original MakerDAO dapp. Because it retains the trading function, it remains in the exchange category.
This again highlights the blurring of the lines between the two categories, which will only become more apparent in 2020.
It's worth emphasizing that OasisTrade accounted for the vast majority of the exchange's category value during 2019, despite having fewer than 100 daily active users.
It also surpassed the original MakerDAO dapp in daily value for most of 2019.
For these reasons, it's best to view ethereum's performance in 2019 as the average between the decline of traditional decentralized trading and the rise of defi-associated trading dapp.
Gambling and high risk
While ethereum was the first block chain available for gambling dapps and high-risk dapps, it was clear that ethereum was not the best platform for such activity.
This is partly due to the slow timing of ethereum exits and partly due to ethereum's model of charging fuel for every transaction.
Developers of gambling dapp will do better if ethereum remains the only smart contract blockchain available, but considering that EOS and TRON are easier environments for such dapps to grow, the category has declined in ethereum during 2019.
Another problem that makes this category hard to describe is that unlike other categories, gambling and high-risk dapps have not developed consistently. Especially in high risk situations, dapp users rose quickly, caught people's attention, and then suddenly declined. The current high risk dapp Hex is a good example. This makes it difficult to find similarities in the trends of such dapps.
Finally, as is often mentioned, gambling dapps typically generate a lot of robot traffic. Although DappRadar actively filters these, it is impossible to remove them all as other categories do.
That's why a wallet that's active every day in these dapps looks so strange. It is worth noting that playtowin.io has a daily life of 1,000 and fell to an average of less than 50 points during the fuel spike in September.
More generally speaking, the cyclical rise and fall of dapp is obvious as new products are introduced, the attraction increases and is then replaced by more attractive competitors.

That's why fuel costs play an important role when we think about value.
Such dapps have fallen from more than $2m a day in early July to less than $500,000 in early August. It didn't recover to that level until October, then peaked at $1 million a day in mid-november before falling back again.

Ethereum Dapps: conclusion
As you can see, not all of ethereum's expectations have been met in 2019, but some very good progress has been made.
Yet even at this level, the successful deployment of two hard forks, as well as symbolic events such as the Flippening, testify to its growing maturity as a functional technology.
This conclusion was reinforced by the further development of ethereum as part of the dapps ecosystem in 2019.
Despite strong competition, ethereum remains the most popular place to deploy dapp (excluding gambling and high risk), with every dapp category on ethereum showing strong growth in daily life and daily value.
The most notable success has been in the DeFi category, which, while still small in user Numbers, has seen an astonishing increase in the value of the assets covered.
Part of this trend is reflected in the exchange category, where strong growth has resulted from the good cooperation between exchange dapps and DeFi dapps. However, traditional decentralised exchanges have failed to take advantage of this development.
Finally, the gaming and marketing categories have also seen strong growth in daily activity, although existing products still have a lot of work to do in terms of getting large Numbers of users and transactions.
It is worth noting that such dapps currently operate on a transaction basis, with users purchasing unique and irreplaceable items, as compared to the activities of DeFi and exchange dapps, which are based on trading or exchanging highly liquid alternative tokens, and therefore much more expensive.
This difference between categories can be clearly shown when drawing and comparing their daily user and value totals (each dot represents a day).
· DeFi has the smallest user base but the highest value
· exchanges are widely used while daily trading volumes are low
· games/markets and gambling/high risk daily activities are higher, but they generate lower transaction volume

3.EOS: from a year-round perspective
Like most blockchains, EOS started 2019 well.
The price of its cryptocurrency has risen steadily, peaking at $8.59 in early June.
Similarly, the daily activity of EOS dapps also increased during this period, with all dapps peaking at 54,000 daily active independent wallets in early June.
Since then, however, EOS has gone downhill.
The cryptocurrency of EOS has steadily fallen back, ending the year just above $2.

EOS dapps: user
The potential vulnerabilities exploited by EIDOS's spam have long been controversial, although there has been more abstract discussion about the governance model of EOS and the lack of decentralization, particularly regarding the technical capabilities of its 21 block producers.
However, when the EIDOS token was launched in early November, the congestion caused by eating up most of the blockchain resources quickly proved disastrous for the wider EOS dapp ecosystem. Most users with small amounts of EOS cannot confirm their transactions, so they stop using EOS dapps.
This led to a brutal crash, with overall wallet activity falling from 44,000 a day to 13,000 in just a few days. Since then, dapp daily activity has remained at this level.

But even in the days before the congestion accident, something unusual happened.
On Oct. 2, solstice, 3, EOS 'dapp daily active users dropped to around 20,000, then bounced back almost immediately.
Actually the congestion process caused by the EIDOS can be divided into two stages. On October 23, EOS dropped from 44,000 wallet days to 20,000, rose to 30,000 on October 30, and fell back to 13,000 when EIDOS launched on November 1. It is not clear what caused the final drop. However, a number of other issues arise as we delve into which dapp categories are affected by the EIDOS token.

Unlike ethereum and TRON, which have a well-defined set of dapp categories, EOS's largest category of dapp is the "other" category.
Of course, there are plenty of dapp categories on EOS, such as "games," "exchanges," "gambling" and "high risk" and "others," but about half of the dapp days on EOS are done through "other" classes (such as ADM, ENBank, and PRA CandyBox).
This kind of dapp can get more dapp users by dropping tokens, so it tends to attract a lot of robots.
EOS dapps: robots
Depending on its design, all blockchains are susceptible to robot operations, but the level of this traffic depends on the specific design of each blockchain.
For example, ethereum's fuel bill doesn't eliminate the flow of robots, but it does reduce it, and the fuel bill encourages people to use robots only if they are sure to generate more revenue than they spend upfront.
There is no threshold for fuel costs for proof-of-interest blockchains like EOS and TRON, which means that once a wallet is created, it is very cheap to run a large network of robots. Currently, DappRadar and other companies have done a lot of work to identify and filter such robot traffic, but it's nearly impossible to completely filter out robot traffic. This provides a low-cost environment for users of EOS dapp in different categories to operate robot traffic.
Since October 23, the congestion of dapp activity on EOS has hit dapp for "gaming" and dapp for "trading" by 17% and 15% respectively, but dapp for "gambling" and "high risk" has dropped 50% and dapp for "other" has dropped 78%.
Over the next few days, the "exchanges" and "games" categories recovered, but the "gambling" and "high risk" and "other" categories did not.

In fact, looking at dapp activity in these categories through the fourth quarter of 2019, you can see a clear and concise data graph.
The "games" category actually fell only 16 percent, and "exchanges" fell 42 percent, but "gambling" and "high risk" lost 61 percent of their visitors, while the "other" category dropped an incredible 92 percent.
There is a reason for this decline, as EIDOS ACTS as an increase in fuel costs for transactions on the EOS blockchain. If users (or developers) want to get their deals done as quickly as possible, they must increase the resources they are willing to spend to get them done.
Obviously, both financially and emotionally, users (or developers) are prepared to buy additional EOS only if the experience is valuable to them.
In this case, the active data of "game" category dapp maintained a good situation, the active data of "exchange" category dapp decreased significantly, the active data of "gambling" category decreased significantly, and other airdrop activities were also destroyed. In particular, anyone who can run a robot now spends all their time and resources on EIDOS.
In this way, the congestion caused by the EIDOS token ACTS as a filter for robot traffic in the EOS dapp ecosystem.
Therefore, it is necessary to reconsider the scope of EOS dapp ecosystem, that is, the traffic of EOS dapp before the release of EIDOS is the combination of real traffic and robot traffic, while the traffic of EOS dapp after the release of EIDOS is the data closer to the real traffic of EOS dapp.
This will reduce EOS from a peak of 54,000 to 26,000 wallets in 2019, but will not have a significant impact on the year-end total, while providing a clear advantage to EOS's continued potential as a vibrant dapp ecosystem.
In fact, relative to the 48% drop in daily activity for all EOS dapps we cited in 2019, the post-eidos filter model produced a small 8% increase in daily activity.

EOS dapps: user
When it comes to the major dapps running on EOS, what is surprising is that while the "gambling" and "high risk" categories are large in terms of overall activity, no single "gambling" category has high dapp daily activity data.
Instead, as a group (not including ADM, ENBank and PRA CandyBox dapp), the most popular EOS dapp are the games EOS Dynasty, EOSKnights and Prospectors and Newdex.

Judging from the events throughout 2019, it is clear that the knights of EOS show a short-term rise followed by a long-term decline.
The game peaked at 6,900 wallet days in March this year, and the number of users steadily declined until EIDOS's congestion caused the game to drop significantly. By the end of 2019, the game will have about 300 daily active users.
The reasons are unclear, but they may include fewer in-game rewards, a lack of long-term gameplay, and active filtering of robots by game developers.
It's worth noting that in the meantime, an updated version of the game, Knight Story, was released on ethereum and will be released on TRON and other blockchains in 2020.
In this case, Knight Story might be seen as part of a disengagement from the EOS dapp community, and EIDOS congestion certainly accelerated that disengagement.
Also, although Prospectors recently released a version of the game using the eos. IO SDK on the WAX blockchain. But EOS Dynasty and Prospectors were both launched in 2019 and continue to hold more than 3,000 wallet days, while the Newdex exchange has maintained more than 1,000 wallet days since its launch in June.
EOS dapps: value
Like ethereum, in 2019, DappRadar realized the importance of tracking traffic in EOS cryptocurrency and other eos-based tokens to provide a more comprehensive trend map.
The tracking began on June 1, initially through the EOS exchange (especially Newdex), and showed significant token values -- sometimes more than $200 million a day.
However, this figure proved to be a temporary effect, with the total daily value of tokens in the EOS dapp ecosystem only a few million dollars by the end of 2019, the vast majority of which was generated by EOS rather than secondary tokens.
In fact, the daily value of the eos-dapp ecosystem (in terms of daily inputs) has fallen by 92% over the past year, another worrying sign that the eos-dapp ecosystem will continue to suffer until 2020.

EOS dapps: conclusion
On all fronts, 2019 will be a tough year for the EOSdapp ecosystem.
It lost a lot of users, reduced a lot of transactions, and there seems to be no quick fix available as the network congestion caused by the EIDOS token continues.
Given that the launch of eos-based competitors such as the WAX blockchain has attracted many EOS dapp transformations, things are only going to get harder for EOS in 2020.
In particular, by breaking down the dapp categories into their daily users: value components (each data point is a day), it's clear that while EOS has users, only the "exchange" class dapp can generate significant value.
Similarly, despite some successful products, the "games" category is not as popular as it was on ethereum in general. And, despite its popularity, the "gambling and high risk" category does not generate as much value as the TRON.

4.TRON: from a year-round perspective
Whether at the level of agreement, pr or dapp, 2019 can be divided into two phases for TRON.
The price of TRX's cryptocurrency peaked in early and late June after its founder, sun yuchen, made a high-profile $4.6m offer for a charity lunch with legendary investor Warren Buffett.
This follows a peak of more than 30,000 daily wallet interactions with TRON dapp in April. So far, things have gone well for TRON.
But after the lunch date was canceled, activity in the TRON dapp ecosystem dropped to more than 10,000 wallets a day, although it rebounded at an average of 18,500 by the end of the year; That's up 82% since the beginning of January.
But TRX's price did not recover, falling 26%.

More important was the decline in the value of TRX delivered through gambling, which mainly ran on TRON, and high-risk dapp.
Again, this year's peak was an impressive $100 million on March 16, but by December the daily total was well below $10 million. During the year, the total number of days dropped by 75 percent.

TRON dapps: users
But perhaps the biggest problem for TRON's vision as a mature dapp ecosystem is its failure to expand beyond gambling and high-risk dapps.
90% of the audience for TRON interacted with dapp, 10% with dapp, and 0.1% with dapp.
This shows that, except for the TronWatch Market exchange, the top five dapps in the daily activities of TRON in 2019 all fall into the category of "gambling" and "high risk".
Even against this backdrop, TRON's most popular dapp, TRONBET (relaunched as WINk in 2019), peaked in late June at 4,000 wallet days, falling to less than 2,000 by mid-december.

This is not to say that developers have not tried to launch other types of dapps on TRON. In fact, a lot of games have been released, but like any other category of dapp, it's easy to launch on TRON, but hard to maintain audiences.
Games such as Epic Dragons and TRON Legend, TRON Trade exchange and gaming dapp P3T World and Bankroll, which quickly faded after their daily wallet count peaked at around 2,000.
Of these dapps, only TronTrade managed to retain about 1,000 wallet days of data.

TRON dapps: value
Gambling and high risk dapps on TRON dominated in terms of users. Surprisingly, the value advantage of such dapps on TRON was not extreme.
The value is divided into 90 percent gambling and high risk and 10 percent trading, with game rounding negligible.
However, in terms of category, most of the daily value of TRON is the responsibility of a single dapp.
WINk accounts for about 72% of the total, and in the second half of 2019, its dominance rose to 85% of the total value of the TRON dapp ecosystem.
Over the course of the year, the top five dapps (WINk, 888TRON, TronWoW, Poloni DEX and TronTrade) accounted for 95% of the market value of TRON dapp.
TRON dapps: conclusion
TRON looked a bit weak at the end of the year.
This can also be concluded by comparing daily user value graphs from each TRON dapp category.
In fact, the "game" category dapp is irrelevant, with low volume and low value. Both gambling and the high-risk dapp are clearly key categories for TRON in terms of users and value.

5. Other competitors
In early 2019, DappRadar tracked dapp's performance in three smart contract blockchains (ethereum, EOS, and TRON).
But by the end of 2019, tracking has increased from just three blockchains to 11, and more blockchains are expected to be added by 2020.
The reason for the expansion is clear. The blockchain sector is expanding rapidly, and developers want to improve existing technologies.
Of course, not all blockchains will be successful, but at DappRadar, we strongly believe that those blockchains that ultimately succeed are because they provide an environment for dapp developers and dapp users to thrive in their dapp ecosystem.
So, in that spirit, we gave a brief overview of the eight blockchains that DappRadar is tracking starting in 2019, and highlighted their key dapps.
Note: we will list them in chronological order as DappRadar begins tracking them.
IOST
The IOST network was launched in February 2019, based on a consensus of super-fast, highly dispersed credibility.
So far, DappRadar has tracked 39 dapps mainly in the "games" and "gambling" and "high risk" categories.
However, the most popular dapp on the IOST is the IOST Dex exchange. The dapps with the highest daily token values are "gambling" dapp iPirates.
Throughout 2019, IOST wallet day peaked in mid-june with more than 7,000 active wallets per day, despite its annual average of 1,800.

Ontology (Ontology)
Ontology is not only a blockchain for dapp, but also a technology that includes a complete set of distributed ledgers, intelligent contract systems, and distributed trust ID platforms. Not only that, it also has a powerful future roadmap for multi-chain and cross-chain solutions.
To date, DappRadar has tracked 48 dapps, with the most popular and valuable dapp category being "games".
Ontologically, the top dapps are HyperDragonsGo and HyperSnakes, which have around 500 game days.
Throughout 2019, ontological activity experienced a peak in May, with more than 70,000 independent wallets active every day, but in the second half of the year, it averaged just over 2,000.

Loom Network
One of the first massively expanded tier 2 solutions, Loom Network's Basechain already allows developers to deploy dapp on the Ethernet, TRON and Binance blockchains, as well as plans to support EOS and Cosmos.
So far, DappRadar has tracked 17 dapps, most of them in the "games" category.
First, the most popular dapp is Loom's own coding tutorial, CryptoZombies; Second, the game Axie Infinity (fantasy creature) gained a large number of users by using Basechain to protect its land NFT gameplay.
Unlike the other blockchains described in this section, Loom's daily activity has been fairly steady throughout 2019, averaging about 500 active individual wallets per day. This is partly because many of its dapps (such as Relentless, cryptographic warfare, and Sorare) are in the pre-release testing phase.

ThunderCore (TT chain)
ThunderCore is an evm-compatible common blockchain designed for scalability of a centralized infrastructure and security of a decentralized system.
It does this using the double-chain method. Describing the "standard" slow blockchain, ThunderCore initially used ethereum in conjunction with a "fast track" protocol coordinated by a central body called Accelerator.
So far, DappRadar has tracked 10 dapps, most of which are in the "gambling" category. The most popular dapp is gambling dapp TTRoll.
ThunderCore activity peaked in May with more than 20,000 active wallets a day, but the average in the second half of 2019 was less than 500.

VeChain (chainless)
VeChain is an enterprise-friendly public blockchain platform with a sound governance structure, a powerful economic model and the integration of the Internet of things.
So far, DappRadar has tracked 16 dapps on VeChain, most of them in "other categories," including esports platforms Plair and PlayDECENT.
VeChain's dapp daily lives were relatively stable in 2019, but at a low level, with the average wallet having only 40 daily lives.

NEO
Described as an "open network of smart economies", NEO blockchain USES a delegated Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus model to provide high throughput and single-block finalization.
So far, DappRadar has tracked 13 dapps, most of them in the "games" category. The most popular dapps in 2019 were NEOLand games and the Switcheo Network exchange.
Neos peaked at more than 2,000 wallet days in September, but the average wallet day in 2019 is about 250.

Waves
Waves is an open source and decentralized platform for Web 3.0 applications, but only recently has dapp deployment been supported.
So far, DappRadar has tracked 21 dapps, most of them in the "gambling" category. The most popular dapps are Dice Roller and Ride on Waves.
It wasn't until July that Dapp became active on Waves, peaking at more than 500 wallet days in October. As of 2019, Waves is averaging around 200 users per day.

WAX
The last blockchain to be added to DappRadar is WAX based on eos.io. It's a blockchain focused on gaming and marketing.
Since WAX was launched at the end of December, there is very little data at present.
So far, 26 dapps have been tracked, although most of them are utility dapps that fall into other categories.
The most popular dapps on WAX are the game Prospectors and social network KARMA, both of which were ported from the original EOS release.
With the release of Prospectors, Dapp on WAX's wallet peaked at more than 5,000 per day.
