According to BlockBeats, in the online AMA NEAR China community on January 3, Illia, CEO of NEAR, a sub-project in silicon valley, discussed his views on the current technology development in the field of public chain in a question-and-answer session with the audience, and said pragmatism is the design principle of NEAR.
"I respect every designer involved in ethereum 2.0," Illia said. "But they seem to have to solve every possible problem, the design is always changing, and it's hard to achieve that ambition at once. Our thinking is more practical and developer-friendly."
BlockBeats learned that NEAR's engineering goal when the main network went live was to achieve an upper limit of about 100 shards and 1000 TPS per shard, and to achieve more ambitious targets such as PoST and dynamic shard in subsequent development. Currently, NEAR supports two smart contract languages, Rust and TypeScript.
