Backpack, an integrated crypto exchange platform and self-custody wallet platform, today announced its integration with the Sei Network. Sei is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain.
The Backpack wallet and its browser extension are now integrated with the Sei Network. Backpack has been listed as a recommended wallet by Sei and has become a trusted tool for Sei users and developers. Users can now securely store, send, and interact with Sei native assets through the Backpack mobile app, with the browser extension version set to be released soon. Popular dApps and projects on Sei can now be accessed directly through the Backpack wallet. Additionally, this integration will also introduce native USDC support to the Backpack exchange, facilitating stablecoin settlements and the creation of new trading pairs.
"Backpack brings technical depth and powerful operational capabilities to the Sei ecosystem," said Jayendra Jog, Co-Founder of Sei Labs. "This integration helps us achieve our mission of providing faster, more secure, and user-friendly digital asset interaction infrastructure for institutions and users. Backpack offers outstanding user experience, compliance, and multi-chain capabilities, combined with Sei's underlying performance, making on-chain transactions simpler and more intuitive."
Currently, Backpack supports mainstream chains such as Solana, Ethereum, and Sui, while Sei is the latest Layer 1 network to complete a wallet and exchange dual-end integration. Since its launch, the Backpack exchange has processed a total trading volume exceeding $139 billion, rapidly becoming the preferred platform for retail and institutional traders.
"We are excited to introduce SEI to our trading platform and support the ongoing development of the Sei ecosystem through the Backpack wallet, helping users and developers access this rapidly expanding network more easily," said Armani Ferrante, Founder and CEO of Backpack.
Sei is an ultra-high-speed Layer 1 blockchain that provides high-performance foundational infrastructure for the digital asset market. Sei launched its mainnet in 2023 and has since processed billions of transactions, with over 40 million wallet addresses. Currently, Sei is testing the V3 "Giga" update on Devnet, aiming to bring groundbreaking scalability to the Ethereum ecosystem. Its team has received support from top institutions such as Multicoin, Jump, and Coinbase Ventures.
Backpack is a Web3 ecosystem consisting of multiple products, including the popular Backpack Wallet (an integrated self-hosted wallet geared towards multi-chain interaction); the Backpack Exchange (a regulated cryptocurrency exchange providing high capital efficiency and a user-friendly trading experience); and one of the largest NFT communities on Solana, Mad Lads.
