Received $130 Million in Funding, Quick Look at Privacy Tech Zama User Guide

Read this article in 12 Minutes
Zama's testnet is now live, with plans to launch the mainnet and release the $ZAMA token by the end of 2025. They currently offer Guild quests, focusing on community engagement and foundational learning, making it accessible for the average user to participate.
Original Title: "Privacy Dark Technology Zama, Backed by $130 Million in Financial Support, Must-Not-Miss Public Airdrop!"
Original Authors: SoonCrush, Biteye

Privacy and transparency have always been common topics in the blockchain industry. The greatest advantage of blockchain is transparency, where transaction data is visible to everyone, open, and tamper-proof. However, a problem arises: Some information really shouldn't be visible to everyone!

Whether it's dog transaction records, interaction records, arbitrage records, or even wallet balances, there are always some "overly private" information that, when put on-chain, appears too exposed. Not everyone is willing to make it public.

In such cases, when we want decentralization and privacy protection, we have to mention the project we are introducing today, the privacy-preserving project Zama.

1. Project Introduction

Zama is an open-source cryptography company based in Paris. They are working on a black technology called FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption), which allows encrypted data to directly participate in smart contract computations without the need for decryption throughout the entire process, maximizing privacy!

In other words, whether you are working on DeFi, AI, or healthcare applications, you can encrypt and run computations at the same time, truly achieving "public where necessary, private where necessary."

Currently, Zama has completed a $57 million Series B financing round, with total funding reaching $130 million and a valuation exceeding $1 billion. Its investor lineup includes Web3 giants like Pantera, Multicoin, and Blockchange.

Since Zama's testnet is already live, and its roadmap clearly indicates the mainnet launch and $ZAMA token issuance by the end of 2025, this is a project with a public airdrop, making it very worthwhile.

Ordinary users can currently participate in Guild tasks, which mainly focus on community participation and basic learning tasks, relatively straightforward. Here are the detailed operational steps.

2. Interaction Steps

Guild Address: https://guild.xyz/zama/

The Guild Quests consist of four main categories, usually completing the first two quests is sufficient. The "Developer Plan" and "Bounty Plan" may be challenging, especially if you are not a developer.

1. Beta Tester

First, we need to complete the Beta Tester task on the homepage, which serves as the foundation for other tasks.

Users need to connect their wallet, verify their address, and then complete three out of four social tasks.

It is recommended to skip the first Farcaster task because registration requires $5, connecting to the Guild requires $1, which is not very cost-effective. You can directly complete the other three tasks.

For the final asset verification, you need to have 0.1 ETH or 250 USDC on the Ethereum mainnet, along with 3 interaction records.

The assets here cannot be withdrawn. Even after task completion, they will be continually monitored. If the conditions are not met, the task status will revert to incomplete.

Therefore, it is not possible to use multiple accounts to participate in this project, as the cost of having multiple accounts is high. Only high-quality accounts can be used.

2. First Time Using Zama and FHE? Click Here to Start

This page consists of four learning tasks, three testing tasks, and finally, you need to retweet an article on Twitter to complete the tasks. The tasks are interdependent, so if the previous one is not completed, the subsequent ones cannot be continued.

The specific tasks include:

· Understand the basics of FHE encryption

· Zama CTO Pascal Paillier's introduction to FHE

· Software Engineer's introduction to FHE

· Zama CEO's introduction to FHE

· Share Zama's latest news on X

3. Creator Plan

The Zama Creator Plan aims to reward creators who produce high-quality content related to Zama and Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). The top 100 creators in monthly rankings will be rewarded based on their total points.

This task can be completed by non-developers as well, it just requires a bit more time, but before starting the Creator task, the previous task must also be completed, otherwise it cannot be unlocked.

Users can create content from the following 5 categories:

Event Time:

· Starts at 00:00 on the 1st of every month (UTC)

· Ends at 23:59 on the last day of the month (UTC)

· 1st to 7th of the next month: Review works, calculate points, update leaderboard

· Within 14 days after leaderboard release: Distribute rewards & grant the "Zama Creator" role

Regarding the evaluation of content creation, the official team will assess according to the following weights, introducing a quality multiplier (x1~x5), where a higher multiplier indicates more points.

x1: Meets minimum requirements

x2: Good content quality with some interaction

x3: High quality, positive community feedback

x4: Excellent, encourages discussion

x5: Viral, generates significant impact

Evaluation criteria include content quality, technical accuracy, creativity, community impact, and interaction data. Infofi players, don't miss out!

4. Developer Plan (Optional)

The Zama Developer Plan is a tiered task system for blockchain developers, designed to guide developers in mastering FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption) and FHEVM (Zama's encrypted smart contract platform). Since it is aimed at developers, this task is optional and quite challenging.

The entire plan is divided into four levels, starting from the first level "Explorer," which requires developers to connect their GitHub account and follow Zama's open-source projects;

Upon reaching the second level "Learner," developers need to thoroughly read the protocol documentation, quick start guide, and lite paper;

When reaching the third level "Builder," developers must hands-on write and deploy their first FHEVM smart contract to the testnet;

Finally, in the fourth-level task, participants must submit a complete end-to-end dApp project showcasing the practical application of FHE.

If you are a developer but do not meet the prerequisites to participate in this task, you can directly contact @Zama Mod in Discord's #chat channel for manual verification. This way, without completing the previous task, you can also participate in the developer task.

5. Bounty Program (Not Yet Started)

This task is also aimed at developers, requiring developers to contribute to the FHE Space and Zama open-source libraries and receive rewards, such as improving code, finding bugs, and other similar tasks.

More details have not yet been announced. All you can do for now is star/favorite Zama's code repository, requiring users to have a GitHub account.
