Nasdaq has filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list the 21Shares SUI ETF — a spot-based exchange-traded fund derived from the SUI token. The 19b-4 document has now been officially published on the SEC’s public filing system, marking the formal commencement of the review process.
This application follows the S-1 registration document submitted by 21Shares in April, reflecting the increasing institutional embrace of the Sui ecosystem. Together, these two filings advance the process of bringing the SUI ETF to the U.S. market.
Globally, over $300 million has already been allocated to SUI-based exchange-traded products. If listed in the U.S., it will further broaden investor access to this innovative Layer 1 ecosystem, celebrated for its exceptional performance and practicality. 21Shares has already launched a Sui ETP on Euronext exchanges in Paris and Amsterdam, which has seen significant inflows this year.
Beyond 21Shares, Sui’s technology has also attracted institutions such as Canary Capital, Ant Group, Franklin Templeton, VanEck, and Grayscale, all of which have introduced investment products or related initiatives on Sui since Q4 of last year.
Kevin Boon, President of Mysten Labs, stated: “The Sui ecosystem has become a go-to destination for serious developers and institutions, and 21Shares is a pioneer that excels at identifying these trends early. It’s been less than two years since mainnet launch, and today’s submission to Nasdaq is a profoundly meaningful milestone. We are proud to collaborate with 21Shares to bring SUI to global investors.”
As the only blockchain specifically designed for mass adoption, Sui delivers unparalleled scalability and efficiency through its object-oriented programming model and unique scalable architecture. It supports a broad range of use cases, from DeFi and gaming to the tokenization of real-world assets.
Sui currently ranks eighth in Total Value Locked (TVL), with stablecoin market capitalization soaring to over $1.1 billion this year, representing a growth of more than 190%. In May 2025 alone, stablecoin transfer volumes exceeded $110 billion.
Sui is an L1 public blockchain redesigned and rebuilt from first principles, aiming to provide creators and developers with a development platform capable of supporting the next billion users in Web3. Applications on Sui are based on the Move smart contract language and feature horizontal scalability, enabling developers to support extensive application development quickly and at low costs.
