· ArbOS V11 will be supported by over 99% and what upgrades will Arbitrum receive?
· Latest funding proposal for Arbitrum: 55 projects to share over $70 million
Recently, two proposals from Arbitrum have attracted attention.
On November 28th, the Arbitrum community launched the "ArbOS V11" AIP proposal vote, and this proposal states: "At a higher level, the ArbOS upgrade can be viewed as a hard fork of Arbitrum."

According to BlockBeats observation, the proposal currently maintains a support rate of 99% and will end the vote at around 6 am on December 5th. This also means that, barring any major unexpected circumstances, the proposal will pass with a support rate of over 99%.

According to the details of the proposal, Arbitrum will undergo several improvements, including support for EVM Shanghai upgrade and PUSH0 opcode, as well as various bug fixes. These improvements have been reviewed and are available for adoption by Arbitrum Orbit chain, Arbitrum One, and Arbitrum Nova, with the proposal involving the latter two.
In fact, the upgrade of the Arbitrum chain rules, also known as the "ArbOS upgrade", focuses on limiting changes that may affect the validity of Arbitrum blocks ("RBlocks"). This is of great significance for ensuring the smooth and secure operation of Arbitrum.
Arbitrum states that, similar to Ethereum on L1 blockchain, running different versions of ArbOS on nodes given to the Arbitrum chain may result in two different versions: "However, unlike Ethereum, there is an 'objective' method to determine which of the two competing chains is the canonical chain: the Arbitrum bridge."

The bridge of Arbitrum is a series of smart contracts residing on its parent chain, which is responsible for maintaining information about the Arbitrum chain state on L1. In addition, this allows users to transfer assets between L1 and L2.
This bridge ensures the accuracy of its view on the Arbitrum chain through assertion and fraud proof systems. Arbitrum validators can make declarations about the state of the chain, which can be challenged by other validators.
But it is crucial to note that this means the bridging contract for L1 needs to understand the execution rules of the Arbitrum chain. Therefore, for Arbitrum One, updating these contracts requires a governance proposal by the Arbitrum DAO to change the execution rules of the Arbitrum chain to accommodate the changes.
Therefore, in this proposal, the upgrade of ArbOS is considered as a hard fork of Arbitrum. Specifically, since the latest version of Geth already includes support for the changes made to the EVM in the Shanghai L1 upgrade, Arbitrum also needs to synchronize its support to ensure that there is no divergence with previous versions of node software.
The areas that need to be repaired include retryable repairs, repairing the list of chain owners returned by precompiled repairs, fixing issues where some precompiled methods occupy all Gas during recovery, and creating missing precompiled methods to view some L1 pricing parameters.
BlockBeats observed that the Arbitrum community recently passed a proposal regarding fund allocation.
On December 3rd, the Arbitrum community voted in favor of a community proposal to "provide contingency funding for successful STIP proposals," outlining a one-time feedback fund for all "approved but unfunded proposals" for Arbitrum STIP. The proposed total budget will be increased by 21.4 million to 71.4 million ARB, with the total number of participating protocols increased by 26, for a total of 56 funded projects.
On December 4th, Arbitrum DAO voted to approve a funding proposal of 21.1 million tokens (approximately $23.5 million) for projects that missed out on the initial 50 million token Short-Term Incentive Program (STIP).
The proposal was passed after voting by the DAO.
With the approval of a new proposal, the total budget for STIP has increased to 71.1 million ARB tokens. According to the proposal, the additional funds will be distributed after a three-day waiting period.
It is worth mentioning that Wormhole, one of the projects that received funding this time, completed a financing of 225 million US dollars at a valuation of 2.5 billion US dollars on November 29th, which has attracted attention from the cryptocurrency community.
