On November 8th, 2023, UXUY announced the official launch of its Universe service for Taproot Assets, becoming the second global provider to offer this service after Lightning Labs. As an important part of the "UXUY Struck by Lightning" program, UXUY has taken another step forward in advancing the exploration of the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Taproot Assets node providers can add UXUY's Universe service to their own node's Federation Server List using the following command:

With the launch of the Universe service by UXUY, the Taproot Assets protocol is officially moving towards Multiverse Mode, which is an important feature of Taproot v0.3. This will provide comprehensive asset information and asset holder proof, as well as all the data required for developers to update Taproot Assets.

What is Universe Service?

Taproot Asset Universe is a repository of assets and their proofs. A Universe can provide information about a single or multiple asset types (such as specific stablecoins or all stablecoins). It can store information about issued assets, their quantity and rules, and evidence of recent transfers.

UXUY provides a Universe service that is similar to a blockchain explorer. It displays Taproot asset transaction data and stores it off-chain simultaneously with the Taproot asset client.

With the help of Taproot Assets v0.3, the multi-universe mode will enable multiple Universe servers to operate as an alliance, keeping all servers in sync for a given asset. Therefore, even if the issuer's server is offline, the receiver can still have access to many different data sources to verify the legitimacy of the sender's assets.

For on-chain Taproot asset transactions, users need to send and receive assets when both parties are not online at the same time. For the receiver, this means being able to generate an address that anyone can send to at any time. Taproot Assets v0.3 achieves this goal by providing developers with tools to add Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) for proof retrieval to on-chain addresses. The receiver's wallet then synchronizes with the specific Universe server detailed in the URI to download the off-chain proof data needed to send newly received assets in the future, resulting in a seamless experience for users to asynchronously receive assets in their wallets.

Release Taproot Explorer

UXUY not only provides developers with the Universe service they need, but also launched the Taproot browser for traders, allowing users to quickly search for and capture valuable and potentially valuable assets in the Taproot Assets ecosystem. Universe will also contribute to connecting Bitcoin to the Ethereum and BNB ecosystems. After the launch of Taproot on the Bitcoin Lightning Network, users can quickly complete transactions and asset transfers on the high-security, low-cost Bitcoin Lightning Network.

In order to better serve Bitcoin Taproot Assets, UXUY plans to upgrade the Taproot Assets browser and enable the TaprootScan.io domain, with the goal of becoming one of the most important infrastructure in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
