BlockBeats News, October 9th, Deribit, a cryptocurrency options trading platform, plans to launch more cryptocurrency options trading. Deribit COO Luuk Strijers said that starting from January next year, they will support options trading for Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), and Polygon (MATIC).

Deribit plans to launch a zero-fee spot cryptocurrency trading platform in early 2023 to facilitate derivative trading rather than entering the token trading business. Luuk Strijers also stated that they plan to apply for a cryptocurrency broker license from the European Union (EU) in the future and consider relocating the company from Panama to Dubai if approved by regulatory authorities.

SOL、ADA、MATIC were previously listed by the SEC as unregistered securities

BlockBeats previously reported that in the lawsuit filed by SEC against Binance on June 5th, cryptocurrencies listed as securities include but are not limited to BNB, BUSD, and various other cryptocurrencies such as SOL, ADA, MATIC, FIL, ATOM, SAND, MANA, ALGO, AXS, and COTI.

This information attracted a lot of attention and opposition at the time. On June 6th, CZ commented on the matter on his social media platform saying "We need to unite".

On June 9th, the Solana Foundation stated in a statement that "the Solana Foundation firmly believes that SOL is not a security. SOL is the native token of the Solana blockchain, which is a powerful, open-source, community-based software project that relies on the participation of decentralized users and developers to expand and develop."

On June 10th, Sandeep Nailwal, the founder of Polygon, stated that "Polygon ecosystem contributors, including Polygon Labs, are ready to continue building for the next 5-10 years. This is a marathon, and every disruption is just temporary noise for us. Polygon will continue to build."

The next day, SOL, ADA, MATIC and other cryptocurrencies previously listed as securities by the SEC also saw significant short-term gains, with SOL rising 16.75% in 24 hours.

On July 27th, according to a report by CCData, the assets under management (AUM) of investment funds related to Solana, Ripple, and Stellar surged in July. The AUM based on SOL products grew by 55.7%, reaching $87.8 million, while the AUM based on XRP products grew by 33.2%, reaching $65.7 million.
