BlockBeats News, on July 14th, the Multichain team stated in a post that Zhao Jun, the CEO of Multichain, was taken away by the police from his home on May 12th of this year and has since lost contact with the Multichain team. After contacting the MPC node operator, the team learned that the project had revoked the operation access key to the MPC node server. These MPC node servers were actually running on Zhao Jun's personal cloud server account, and no member of the team can access Zhao Jun's personal cloud server account, so no one can log in to these MPC servers.
After contacting Zhao Jun's family, the project team learned that all of Zhao Jun's computers, phones, hardware wallets, and mnemonic phrases have been confiscated by the police. Since the start of the project, all operational funds and investor investments have been controlled by Zhao Jun. Therefore, all of the team's funds and server access are currently in the hands of Zhao Jun and the police.
Due to the lack of case-related information, the team can only maintain the project operation by using the remaining access permissions on some non-MPC servers that have not been revoked. According to the lawyer's advice, the team chooses to cooperate with the demands of Zhaojun's family as much as possible and comply with local laws and regulations, and will not disclose unauthorized case information to the public.
On June 4th, Zhao Jun and his family successfully logged into the cloud server platform using historical information on their home computer. However, only Multichain team engineers were allowed physical access to the family's computer to fix technical issues with Router2 and Router5.
During this period, Zhao Jun's family and lawyers have been communicating with the police. The team did not learn the details of the case, but learned that Zhao Jun will be released and requested to continue maintaining the system and waiting for further news. The Multichain protocol continues to operate as designed. The team is doing their best to maintain the operation of the Multichain protocol with limited resources and to solve user problems as much as possible.
On July 7th, user assets locked on the MPC address were abnormally transferred to an unknown address. According to Sister Zhao Jun's introduction, login information from Kunming IP address was found on the cloud server platform, as well as a series of operations transferring funds from the MPC address.
On July 9th, Sister Zhao Jun transferred the remaining user assets in the router pool and subsequently notified the team and multiple project parties of this asset preservation action. The funds were transferred to an EOA address controlled by Sister Zhao Jun.

On July 13th, according to information provided by Zhao Jun's family, the police have detained Zhao Jun's sister. Currently, Zhao Jun's sister is also unreachable. The status of the assets she has saved is uncertain, so the team believes it is necessary to inform the community of all known circumstances.
Due to the lack of alternative information sources and corresponding operating funds, the team was forced to stop operations. If there is any further notice and progress, the team will update the community accordingly. The Multichain team has no authority to access the domain account to redirect or close the front-end http://multichain.org. Please help promote and ask users not to use Multichain services anymore.
