Reunderstanding DefiLlama -- A Powerful Data Tool Site
Original article by waynezhang.eth
The first time you use it. DefiLlama For what?
The first time I was assigned a DeFi mission by my leader to query the potential of Avalanche ecology. Now that he's a Big Aggragator, I'll walk you through this Thread to reintroduce its functionality. How the data is used. Interesting data.

Read this article you will gain:
- Learn the full functionality of DefiLlama in detail
- Understand DeFi data & Metrics: LTV, Delta neutral strategy, New Listed Projects
- Look for DeFi Alpha metrics & method
- How to use corresponding indicators and derivative indicators
- Check out DefiLlama's novel data
- Data tool website promotion
- The entire DeFi eco-TVL
-Ranked by TVL agreement
- Can be ranked according to the public chain
Lido became the first due to ETH merger, and 99.2% TVL came from ETH

- The public chains are ranked by TVL/number of protocols/variation/number of stablecoins
- Can be classified by EVM, Non-EVM, Rollup, Cosmos, Parachain
The changes of TVL 7D/1M are worth observing, and there may be new projects released on the chain. DeFi is the ecological infrastructure, and stablecoin is the foundation of DeFi. We can observe the development of the public chain from the perspective of DeFi.

- Sort DeFi protocols by fundraising time
This data is updated a little slowly, with some ability to find Alpha, but not much. It is suggested to consider the total online time of the project

-Sorted by total Treasury, etc., and the proportion of various tokens in the Treasury
Rich Agreement = Fast Agreement Development? Not necessarily
But the protocol has a large number of its own tokens = small or DAO market circulation may be the biggest sellers of tokens
What happened between FTX and BIT DAO is worth learning from, and the risks that unstable coins pose to the Treasury

- Sorted using TVS (Total Value Secured)
- Protocol status of each predictor service
ChainLink is the king of the field. However, this data is not equal to the number of service times of the prediction machine, and the data ambiguity is high

- Check which protocols are copied the most
Most of the forked ones are leading, detailed research is recommended, and developers can check this list for new opportunities

- Check out the leaders in each DeFi segment of each public chain
- Scopes include: Liquid Staking, CDP, DEX, Lending, Yield, Bridge, Services, Algo-Stables
The leader in the big chain ecology is multi-chain, and the leader in the small/new ecology is also looking for a larger market through the multi-chain.
Services that are lacking in the public chain may become new opportunities. For example, who will be Canto's CDP leader?

- You can select multiple protocols to compare TVLS based on the timeline
It might be useful to compare the LSD to the same track.
This feature can be extended to include comparison parameters such as revenue, users, FDV, etc

- You can query token usage in DeFi
This data is supposed to be on-chain data and is not complete, showing only items that are included by DeFillama
There are 3.49 billion USTDT on JUSTLEND. What do they do with it?

- Number of DeFi items by category, TVL
DefiLlama breaks it down into 31 categories, of which the number of protocols under 10 are Privacy, Oracle, Leveraged Farming, Uncollateralized Lending, Exotic Options, RWA Lending. I think there may be some Alpha in the last four

- The most recently included items
Note that this "recently" refers to being included rather than the main net directly online, there is a certain lag

- Proportion of different programming languages
- Language comparison according to TVL
-Solana Eco-Open Source/non-open source protocol ratio
If you want more details, check out @ElectricCapitalData website

- Flow pool order ranked by TVL
- Contains 5,327 pools from 275 protocols across 59 chains
In addition to BTC,ETH and Stablecoin, GLP ranked 11th and GMX ranked 13th all come from GMX

- Select the pledge token and then automatically select the strategy
- Policy benefit is to calculate the total benefit of each policy component
At present, the tracking pool of this function is relatively small, and can only play a certain reference role

- Given a token, a delta neutral "long/short" strategy will be displayed in all tracked pools and CEX perpetual swap markets.
- Annualized strategy returns are calculated taking into account CEX money rate and DeFi yield.
The current CEX partner is OKX, while the decentralized platforms include Venus, Ankr, WOOFi, etc

- Look for Loop Apy, Supply Apy and LTV of different leverage loan projects, current loan situation and other data
- Includes 158 pools out of 291 protocols on 23 chains
Compared with other chains, BNB chain has more items and higher Loop Apy

- Ranking projects by revenue, LTV, supply and usage, etc
- 777 liquidity pools from 291 agreements across 23 chains

- Search for the median APY and distribution of a single currency
- You can check which currency has which APY in which pool of that item
- Visual APY data comparison
Visual panel, very suitable for the use of pledge data analysis report

- 422 pools of 275 protocols on 59 chains
- View TVL, APY (Base APY, Reward APY, 30d Average APY) for each stablecoin pool
Basic high APY is subsidized by the Reward Apy of project tokens
In addition to Ethereum, there are also some stablecoin pools in L2 that are worth paying attention to

- Tracking 5273 pools across 36 protocols on 59 chains
- Simple Exchange DEX, unit yield agriculture, liquidity pledge, bridging LPs
-How do you understand Halal, which I think is a simple and safe pool
The DAI-USDC TVL of Arrakis Finance is $280.75M, which has not been issued for the time being. The current income is only Base Reward, which has not been issued for the time being

- Provides the best transaction path query by aggregating multiple aggregators, and can be directly traded
- Will calculate the transaction results and various costs
- You can customize the slide point
Some aggregators offer discounts, so if you don't mind the hassle of routing your transaction here, go to the corresponding aggregator and see if you can get a discount

- Given one token for mortgage and one token for loan, the calculator will look at all loan agreements
- Calculate the cost of each borrowing, taking into account the incentive, supply APR and borrowing APR,
- Provide a list of all possible borrowing options, costs, and LTVS

- Data list of inflows, outflows and net assets of centralized exchange assets
OKX is currently experiencing a net inflow ($241.63M) in one month, while Binane is experiencing a net outflow ($2.07B) in January
As it stands now, the TOP5 net outflows have not all flowed into the TOP10 net inflows into CEX, and there may now be 1.5B+ assets placed on the chain
Note that the CEX, which saw net inflows in the bear market, may be worth watching

- Look at the total settlement for each protocol on each chain
- A 20% drop in total liquidation
- View the liquidation of the 100 largest positions
The highest clearing price for the TOP 10 (ETH/USD) is $1,088.017, TOP 12 & The TOP 15 is about $1290, and the special TOP 18 is $1547.

-Dexs Indicates the daily, weekly, and monthly transaction volume rankings
- Ranking of trading volume by chain, as well as change volume, TVL, market share, cumulative trading volume
- Options volume ranking, change, TVL, market share, cumulative volume (data flawed)
At present, the trading volume of Lyra accounts for more than 56% of the statistics in the options market, the absolute leader position
- A list of items ranked by revenue and expenses
The categories ranked among the Top 50 by revenue are: Chain/Rollup (selling block space), DEX (processing fees), liquidity Pledge (incentive fees), Options/futures/lending, NFT Market/Lending, CDP, Synthetics, Oracle
It is interesting to note that FDV billions, billions of projects have revenues of only a few million dollars and most of them cannot reach Holders

- Financing time in chronological order
- Financing size, number of rounds, presentation, valuation, lead and participation

-Order by number of trades within 30 days
- Investment projects

- How each stablecoin is pegged, deployed, and changed
There are 6 above 1B, and the status of USDT and USDC is unchallenged for the time being
There are 97 stablecoins listed by DefiLlama alone
The market is still dominated by dollar stablecoins, but there have been some euro stablecoins

- Sort by stablecoin size on the public chain
- Oligopoly of stablecoin projects on each chain, Stablecoin /TVL ratio, number of Bridges

- Record the time, cause, scale, and report of each hacking event
In fact, many of them are due to the logic of the protocol, but most of the projects have actually been audited, and only a few of them were not audited timely when new functions were launched. I think decentralized insurance may be a potential point, but how to avoid team self-deprecating is also a challenge

- Number of pledged items, LSD situation, APR, etc
Lido in the decision leadership position, but unshETH set up 7 days +, already has 86.05 ETH deposited
Hord has an APR of 35.11%, which is frighteningly high

Some fun gadgets from DefiLlama:
-roundup - A collection of information and news compiled by DefiLlama
Trending Contracts: Check the interaction of contracts for a certain period of time in the past (default: 60 minutes, I tried 1 minute but couldn't refresh)
-Token Liquidity: Queries the liquidity depth among tokens

Besides DefiLlama there are some great sites to recommend:
Dune.xyz: You can build your own or view the on-chain charts created by moguls.
Coingecko: In addition to the currency price and new currency, there are also decentralized currency pairs and futures trading volume of centralized exchanges. Gecko Terminal can track even the soil dog tank
TwitterCcan: Commonly used to measure a project's social media activity and influence.
Google: Everything!
In fact, the most sexy or the original data, when you slowly comb clear to get the sense of accomplishment is the strongest, data tools are just a guide for your ideas to provide guidance.
Blockchain browser: Every blockchain has, do not just think it is a place that can only check transactions, see contracts, see what new mint NFT/ token can be done, length reasons, next time can focus on the introduction.
