Ghost Boy: 8-year-old Cool Cats best friend is about to 'live forever' on Ethereum

Read this article in 8 Minutes
Cool Cats Co-Founder brings vulnerability and authenticity to the blockchain by injecting NFT

Writing: Cookie, Beat BlockBeats

We are surrounded by countless choices throughout our lives, and the choices we make over and over again really make us feel like we own our lives. Perhaps only two choices can shake the real feeling that we do not choose at the beginning of life whether to come into this world, and we do not choose at the end whether to go out of this world.

Death is the final station of life. Are we afraid of death? Perhaps what we fear is the unknown -- when and how to get there?

That's the biggest fear for Evan Luza, co-founder of Cool Cats and now a consultant at Cool Cats. It was the same fear that made him value the fleeting moments of life, brilliant or mediocre.

Reflections on death are the inspiration for Ghost Boy. Ghost Boy got its first design in 2015.

Best friends with Cool Cats, Ghost Boy has rarely been seen in the past. Evan and Cool Cats creative director @cloncast had a rare moment together during their failed daily doodle challenge.

Ghost Boy in Cool Cats face

In December, Evan Luza announced that he was stepping down from the front line of the Cool Cats team to become a consultant. Having built Cool Cats into one of the most influential NFT projects on Ethereum, he wanted to use his incubation power again.

Looking back at 2015 from 2021, Evan and @cloncast, who were selling art from a tent, probably never imagined that Ethereum and NFT would make Cool Cats famous

In October of last year, Evan joined Bitcoin.com's Verse NFT project as a consultant before his departure from Cool Cats was announced. In December, he launched Alpha Labs, a Web3 solution studio with former Coinbase developer Uneeb Agha, and launched Alpha Labs' first NFT project, Blockalizer, in January.

And then there's Evan's Ghost Boy. After years of precipitation, Ghost Boy finally has its own final form, carrying Evan's vulnerability in the face of death and the value of life, to "immortality" on Ethereum.

Ghost Boy in its final form

Ghost Boy's team is led by Evan Luza and Uneeb Agha, plus two developers, one designer, and one product manager, for a total of six people.

The project will be opened at Mint at 1am on February 18, Beijing time, with a total supply of 6,666 units at a sale price of 0.025 ETH. Half of the proceeds from the sale will go towards developing Alpha Labs, while the rest will go towards building the Ghost Boy brand. There is no public roadmap, and there are no plans to start a Discord server.

On the one hand, the NFT market has been relatively warm recently due to Blur's "Bid-Airdrop" mechanism, which has greatly increased liquidity, but most of the money still goes to the old blue chip. Ghost Boy, with his background as a Cool Cat Co-Founder, has the potential to stand out from new projects. On the other hand, the lack of a road map, the absence of Discord, and the fact that half of the money raised from the launch will go to Alpha Labs also raised some doubts about Evan Luza's focus on Ghost Boy. Will Ghost Boy, 8, hit it big on Ethereum like his good friend Cool Cats? Let's wait and see.
