New York Times: Telegram to Launch Gram Token and Cryptocurrency Wallet in Next Two Months

BlockBeats News reports that, according to three Telegram investors, Telegram will launch the first batch of Gram tokens in the next two months and will also introduce the Gram digital wallet. Telegram's blockchain, the Telegram Open Network, is still set to launch before October 31, 2019.

According to The New York Times, Telegram also plans to enable 200-300 million global Telegram messaging app users to use the Gram digital wallet. Previously, BlockBeats had reported that Telegram banned Gram token futures trading. According to one investor, the Telegram protocol stipulates that Gram buyers may not "directly or indirectly" offer, pledge, sell, exchange, mortgage, or dispose of their tokens.
