Original title: "Understand the mainstream projects of the Optimism ecology, seize the last airdrop opportunity"

Are you ready for the "Layer2 Season"?
Before this, I think we have all seen the teaser trailer of Optimism about preparing to improve their ecosystem, which is the article published by Optimism: "The New Chapter "
In this article, we first look at the so-called Scalability Trilemma and Optimistic Rollup, and then look at its emerging ecosystems.
This main question focuses on how we can increase TPS while ensuring that the state does not grow out of control so that there is no centralization of the validators of the chain.
How can we solve this problem without making any compromises?

We can partition the blockchain state so that validators don't need to validate every transaction.
Other solutions assume moving computation from layer 1 (Layer1) to another layer, but also ensure the same security and Finality.
Introducing Optimistic Rollup
Optimistic Rollups is an L2 scaling solution that operates by committing state updates to the underlying L1. OR can reduce gas costs by a factor of 10-100.
But the serious question before us is: how do we ensure that these new status updates are valid?

Interestingly, Optimistic Rollup (OR) ("Optimistic Rollup") gets its name from the fact that they issued a status update for ETH L1 without formal proof (optimistic).
However, if two block producers disagree with a state update that occurred in a block, they can enter the dispute resolution process.
A fraud proof is a mechanism for formally verifying that a state update is correct using state data.
In case of dispute, the correct status update will be submitted. If no objections are raised after 7 days, the status is considered final.
Therefore there is a 7-day withdrawal period throughout the process.
In Optimism's recent media post, they articulate a "new chapter" driven by community ownership and governance.
I think we all know this hints that Optimism will be launching their L2 governance token in the coming weeks.

While guessing, I think Optimism will retroactively airdrop both types of participants.
1. Early OR cross-chain bridge users/protocol users
2. Actual protocol already deployed on Optimism
Optimism will use its governance token to motivate on-chain activities for the following reasons.
The Optimism team wants to bootstrap their ecosystem and ensure users connect to the network and interact with the protocols deployed on-chain.
This will lead to a substantial increase in yield, so farmers waiting for yield farming and mining can prepare now.

Here are some tools and resources to help you monitor the growth of Optimism.

The main question you want answered is probably how do I bridge assets to Optimism and how do I avoid the 7 day withdrawal period.
However, there are faster ways to get money in and out of Optimism. The most fluid of these third-party bridges is the Synapse Protocol. Synapse is an AMM, so there will be slippage when funds enter and exit Optimism, but it is better than locking assets for 7 days.

So, as we said, what are the actual protocols deployed on Optimism?
Protocols deployed on Optimism look minimal compared to Arbitrum, but that is expected to change after L2 incentives are implemented.
The most commonly used protocols are listed below.
Perpetual is a DEX derivatives protocol that pioneered the vAMM architecture, which other derivatives trading platforms have also implemented.
By providing centralized liquidity, you can long/short various assets, as well as market making.

This blue chip DeFi protocol is one of the first to be deployed on Optimism. Synthetix was previously a purely synthetic asset platform, but after expanding with Kwenta their ecosystem started to include derivatives.

Lyra is an options protocol that aims to improve the options trading experience with fast transaction confirmation times and low gas fees provided by Optimism.

Quixotic is Optimism’s main NFT platform that hosts a variety of collectibles.
I expect a brand new set of NFT collectibles to launch on their platform in the coming weeks and expect a huge increase in trading activity on Optimism.

So you're probably wondering what's the best way to play L2 season?
My current motto is as follows: Own L2 Token, Own Bridge, Own DeFi Beta.
A reasonable split would be 50/25/25.
Optimism Token incentives have the potential to trigger a reflexive bull market cycle that kickstarts the DeFi revival.
Opportunities in addition to this will come from participating in revenue farming opportunities for newly deployed projects.
Warning: everything has its risks, make sure the protocol contract is verified.
I believe Optimism Token will start a chain reaction of exodus from layer 1 to layer 2.
Great wealth is at hand.
