Solana Ventures is pleased to announce the results of Riptide, a global hackathon focused on bringing impactful projects into the Solana ecosystem. Riptide is the fifth hackathon held by Solana, and it is also the first event that brings together global builders in an offline "Hacker House". The hackathon brings together cryptocurrency pioneers and developers from around the world to freely develop various projects covering payment, DeFi, games, DAO and other types on the Solana blockchain.
Riptide was open to teams around the world, with nearly 7000 participants submitting a total of more than 550 projects. Google, Visa, Jump Crypto, Samsung NEXT, MonkeDAO and Mango, as the track sponsors of this hackathon, jointly with Solana Ventures, provided participants with a global bonus of up to US$5 million and seed funding.
“I’m excited to see what’s being built in Solana during the Riptide competition,” said Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, “From payments to governance, from From games to DeFi to Web3, the builders of the Solana ecosystem are paving the way for mass adoption of blockchain technology.”
