SushiSwap CTO responds to accusations from former employees that most were asked to leave because of poor performance or inability to work with the team

In the news of BlockBeats, AG, the former head of SushiSwap Asia Pacific region, resigned and publicly denounced the management of SushiSwap for its inaction. Instead of being a community-led project, it has become a "company" controlled by a few leaders. Joseph Delong, SushiSwap's CTO, "tweets, doesn't write code. He enjoys it and makes some extra money."

Joseph Delong responded on the evening of December 5 on his personal social media platform. He said he joined SushiSwap at the request of SushiSwap co-founder @0xMaki and helped professionalize and scale the organization. Achieving this goal resulted in Sushi needing to move closer to Uniswap Labs style models. This is impossible without a legal entity. So SushiSwap set up a legal entity that could sign contracts and open bank accounts to pay service providers, Such as Vercel, AWS, Tenderly, Sigma Prime, Certora, ConsenSys Diligence, OpenZeppelin, GitHub, etc. According to Joseph Delong, these are the tools the operations team needs to effectively perform development and operations at Sushi. Forming entities and scaling naturally results in hierarchies, and teams cannot use governance to make every decision.

随后针对其个人开发技术的质疑，Joseph Delong 回应到「在加入 Sushi 之前，我花了 2 年时间开发 Eth2 客户端，因此这将是一项艰巨的任务。Joseph Delong 对 CTO 的工作内容进行了阐述：「CTO 的工作是提供架构指导、制定路线图、组织开发和组建团队。这是我目前所做的工作，也是将继续做下去的。」

Joseph Delong 承认当然有很多前 Sushi 团队成员或许并不喜欢他这位 CTO。但他们中的大多数人是因表现不佳或无法与团队合作而被要求离开。

Joseph Delong revealed that he was not well compensated for his work. This year's work received a $300,000 Sushi payment and ended on January 7, 2022. He actually took a pay cut to leave Dapper Labs to work at Sushi because of his passion for the place. SushiSwap is in the process of launching Trident (the fifth product of the year) and if he can't get the autonomy to continue to operate, the ability to form a leader, and raise compensation across the board, then he will leave.
