2021 年 9 月 3 日 18:00,去中心化云计算项目 Akash 中国社区经理 Alex Wang 做客律动 AMA, 与律动 BlockBeats 就《去中心化云计算为何受到追捧》为题进行了一场线上交流。
Akash Network is developing the world's first and only decentralized open source cloud, leveraging 85 percent of underutilized cloud resources in 8.4 million data centers to enable anyone with a computer to buy and sell cloud computing in a secure frictionless marketplace. Akash DeCloud has dramatically accelerated the scale, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of high-growth industries such as DeFi (decentralized finance), DAO (decentralized organization) and machine learning/artificial intelligence.
With Akash's platform, developers can easily and securely access cloud computing, which currently costs 2-3 times less than centralized cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. The platform assumes these benefits by incorporating advanced containment technology with a unique Staking model to accelerate adoption.

律动 BlockBeats:Can you tell us a little bit about the Akash project and the Akash team?
Alex Wang:Hi, I'm Alex Wang, Akash China Community Manager, call me Uncle Red Army, co-founder of OG.
I am very happy to be here to share with you decentralized cloud computing. Today I am going to share with you the positioning and benefits of being the first open source cloud computing marketplace in the world and its value to us ordinary users and developers, as well as being an active participant in the Cosmos ecosystem. What is the Akash team's first mover advantage and where we are going with the project.
The Akash project is positioned to build a decentralized cloud that makes application deployment faster, more flexible, and cheaper. Akash is the world's first open source cloud marketplace. Compared with the traditional cloud market, we can attract users with a more competitive cost advantage. In terms of product ease of use, we can allow ordinary users to participate in the deployment of applications, greatly reducing the threshold.
The Akash team is an active participant in the Cosmos Ecosphere project, and we are strategic partners with THE ICF of Cosmos to support the cross-chain technology, as well as to provide timely responses to the Akash cross-chain project as soon as possible.
Akash team is a technology-driven team. Greg, the founder of Akash, has deep experience in cloud computing. Before joining Akash, Greg founded the world's largest hackathon organization "AngelHack", which has more than 150,000 developers in 50 cities around the world.
What is technology driven? My personal understanding is to be more pragmatic, practical and steady, oriented by product iterative application.
Akash currently has multiple communities in the United States, Russia, China, and South Korea. The Chinese community is also recruiting a full-time community operation director. Everyone is welcome to sign up.https://bihu.com/article/1239367937
律动 BlockBeats:Why choose the track of decentralized cloud services?
Alex Wang:Akash Network is positioned as a decentralized cloud computing market, which can be simply understood as decentralized AWS.
The market is expected to reach $370 billion by 2022.
Of course, the status quo is dominated by four giants.
The immediate consequences of monopolies are losses to users, including costs and scalability and flexibility.
That's exactly what Akash is trying to solve, and that's what Akash can offer users, namely:
,Efficient, you only pay for what you need, and there are no unnecessary features or fees tied to it
,Flexible, that is, compatible with all existing applications. You can directly deploy any application previously deployed on your own server or cloud to Akash cloud, including enterprise websites, big data, machine learning, DeFi applications, blockchain nodes, etc
,Cost advantage: Akash currently has a great cost advantage over traditional cloud computing manufacturers. On the one hand, it benefits from the reduction of operating cost of our products. On the other hand, the economic model of POS token can provide direct support for ecology. Third, the development of containerization technology is very mature, which is conducive to improving the efficiency of hardware use; Fourthly, Akash is also known as Airbnb in the field of cloud computing. We fully use and activate more idle resources, which improves the resource utilization rate of suppliers and reduces costs for users.
In addition, the Akash cloud computing market will enable more ordinary users to participate. We have greatly reduced the complexity of users, and non-technical users can easily deploy a regular application on the Akash platform with a few clicks of the mouse. Like deploying a mining machine to dig a mine.
律动 BlockBeats:Cosmos' IBC protocol was announced a few months ago. What can IBC bring to Akash?
Alex Wang:The Cosmos ecosystem has recently gained more and more investors and users' attention, and continues to gain popularity on Twitter.
I personally think the development of the cross-chain domain, Cosmos Ecology has been underestimated before.
It is also true that the universal influence of Cosmos ecology is to compare Buddha.
Cosmos Ecology, however, is more open and embracing decentralization. The project has been community-oriented throughout, with recent iterations coming one after another, and the results are exciting and promising. The IBC ecosystem, in particular, will see a big turning point.
The fact that Cosmos SDK is an early component of the technology used by exchanges such as OkChain and Binance Chain shows how well Cosmos is underpinning such a large asset running on top of Cosmos.
Cosmos won't have a slot auction on it, because that hurts decentralization.
The most attractive aspect of Cosmos so far is the introduction of IBC, which means that projects across the Cosmos ecosystem can try out a wider range of composability. For example, in the future, the Akash platform can use Kava's staboin as the handling fee payment, which also means that assets in any chain can be transferred to another chain. This has been realized now, you can go to Emeris or Osmosis to experience it, which is very smooth.
Akash has an important place in the Cosmos ecosystem. We are strategic partners with ICF, important contributors and participants, and will be the first to apply cross-chain related technologies to the Akash network.
More broadly, IBC has had a positive impact on all IBC-enabled projects. Cosmos Ecology's project has a bright future.

律动 BlockBeats:The storage track is very hot, especially with the storage discussion triggered by the development of NFT. What problems can Akash solve in DeFi and NFT ecology?
Alex Wang:Yes, storage is also an important part of building a WEB3 world.
Akash is focused on cloud computing, and we are working with more partners on storage, such as Filebase.

With Filebase and Akash, developers and enterprise users can now quickly migrate from AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure to a decentralized cloud service with a cost reduction of up to 85%. By providing open source dWeb computing and petabyte object storage, developers and enterprises now have the ability to bring dWeb to thousands of existing backup tools, application SDKS, and frameworks they know and love.
Users can choose to use Akash cloud computing for back-end API and database, and Skynet or Filebase to support backup and CDN.
In the World of WEB3, users are like building blocks, each of which can choose its own desirable components from within the industry without being held hostage.
律动 BlockBeats:What are Akash's plans to attract developers?
Alex Wang:Akash is actively involved in the developer ecosystem, including our previous hackathons with Skynet, Sovrython and Solana, where we encourage developers to develop applications and integrate cloud computing infrastructure.
In fact, hackathons for almost any project allow us to collaborate with developers to deploy their applications to the Akash cloud, and we welcome recommendations to developers.
In addition, Akash has recently launched a Grant funding program for developers, ranging from the easiest $100 start-up fund to the highest level of $100,000 accelerator fund. Developers are welcome to submit your app, including but not limited to: Developer tools SDK and API, creation class platform, decentralized network services, BAAS, PAAS, open source communication, desktop deployment applications, managed deployment client with wallet, support storage integration applications.

律动 BlockBeats:How can a regular user participate in the Akash network?
Alex Wang:In addition to the 50% or so annualized Staking we said earlier, today I'll show you something more practical that even non-technical users can get involved in: mining.
We recently launched a PKT mining project on the Akash cloud server. The participants are very active, and the most important thing is that it has a better cost advantage than AWS.
PKT is a bitcoin similar to the PoW algorithm, which distributes network bandwidth to receive mining rewards. The more nodes connected to the network, the faster the whole network. The idea is to build a decentralized ISP or infrastructure provider.
We learned that this project is based on CPU mining, which is more suitable for Akash cloud platform. Akash's colleagues found that Akash has a lower cost for the same configuration after comparison and test. Details can be found here:https://akash.network/zh_Hans/blog/how-to-mine-pkt-faster-on-the-world-s-first-decentralized-cloud
After repeated testing, we recommend a 10CPU, 1GB MEMORY, 1GB storage configuration for the best mining return.
With the help of our Akashlytics client deployment tool, users can complete the deployment of PKT mining machine in about 1 minute after creating Akash wallet and PKT wallet. If you want more profits, you can just deploy another one. It's very fast and convenient, and we think it's much easier than the traditional cloud computing environment. It also opens up more possibilities for non-technical users, where mining is no longer a technical task, but can be done with a click of a mouse.
If you want to get involved in PKT mining, please refer to this document:https://www.yuque.com/akashnetwork/wiki/bqk7kf
律动 BlockBeats:What's been the good news lately and what are Akash's plans for the future?
Alex Wang:First of all, Akash has enabled IBC. Theoretically, all ibC-enabled chains in the future can achieve combinability with Akash and free flow of assets. For example, people can go to Osmosis to provide liquidity to obtain super high returns, and Emeris can also provide liquidity. Or freely convertible Cosmos Ecological assets. Buying any Cosmos Ecological token has become more convenient than ever.
Of course, the next step for Gravity DEX will be the Ethereum docking, where people will be able to freely exchange ERC20 assets for Cosmos Ecological assets.
The other one is the Akash team, and this is one of the things I want to highlight. I think Cosmos Ecology might be low-key, but Cosmos Ecology has a lot of projects going for it. Greg, the founder of Akash, has a lot of work in cloud computing. Gobbi founded AngelHack, the world's largest hackathon organization with over 150,000 developers in 50 cities around the world.
We also recently launched the Akash Insider program, which invites anyone interested in Akash cloud technology or content creation to sign uphttps://akash.network/community#insiders, you have the opportunity to talk to Akash enthusiasts from all over the world and answer questions from users.
Akashlytics, a client deployment tool developed by the community, is popular with many users and greatly simplifies the deployment process.

Recent data from our Akash cloud has been on the rise, as you can see in thehttps://akashlytics.com/Check out all of our relevant resource usage and price comparison data.

Another is that AKT tokens can now be traded on multiple decentralized exchanges. You can use Osmosis (https://app.osmosis.zone/Gravity DEX (https://app.emeris.com/) and Sifchain (https://dex.sifchain.finance/).
Under Osmosis, akt-OSMO has a mobility of us $24 million and Akt-Atom has a mobility of US $23 million

Reached strategic cooperation with Skyent Labs to jointly provide full stack technical support for unstoppable Web, details can be found here:https://akash.network/zh_Hans/blog/akash-network-and-skynet-labs-provide-a-full-stack-for-the-unstoppable-web
Several hackathons were held, including Solana(https://akash.network/zh_Hans/blog/winners-of-the-akash-solana-hackathon), Sovryn($100,000 from Akash,https://akash.network/zh_Hans/blog/everyone-s-a-winner-in-the-sovrynthon-hackathon-sponsored-by-akash) , Filebase, Skynet(https://akash.network/zh_Hans/blog/announcing-the-skynet-hackathon-winner)
As for mining, we continue to look for new mining opportunities, such as Monero. You can refer to this article and some of our friends have already started digging:https://nixaid.com/mine-monero-akash/
And then prepare to mine dogecoin.
Also, our AKT token is getting more and more attention from users, and Coingecko is seeing a lot of users searching for AKT

That's it. The whole story.
