Synthetix founder Kain Warwick worked with BSC and NBSP; Solana After the community interaction, he expressed his concern about the development of Ethereum. He believed that Ethereum should not be proud of its decentralized architecture and should make progress in capacity expansion.
/ Given my recent interactions with the BSC and Solana communities, I am a little worried about Ethereum, as both projects seem to be gaining organic traction. They are doing better than EOS or TRON in the previous cycle. I have some ideas about this...

/ First of all, Solana is clearly an upgrade from the so-called "ETH killer" of the previous generation. Mainly because they managed to hide the tradeoff for capacity expansion from users more effectively.
/ A lot of people, including Vitalik, foreshadowed the possibility of EOS becoming a rich man's game a long time ago, but apparently it turned out to be worse than most people, myself included, expected. It's easy to point out that they're giving up on decentralization.
/ BSC is a natural experiment that seeks to answer the question of whether end users care about decentralization. The answer seems to be: somewhat. I have always believed that decentralization is driven by developer needs, not user needs.
/ But in the BSC, you see a lot of forks and clones of ETH projects, which are very effectively executed around the needs of the developers. If compatible with EVM, you don't need many developers. Given the high user demand for low fees, the market is stepping in to meet the demand.
/ The real question is, once we have multiple Ethereum scaling solutions in the production phase, will BSC/Solana still have enough motivation to maintain a meaningful percentage of decentralized financial DeFi activity? In the old days, I would have said no chance, but now I'm not so sure.
/ One of the main reasons is that I am concerned that there is a strong wealth effect now occurring within BSC and SOL, which will create highly engaged communities that will be very much in line with the success of these networks. I see @thecryptodog et al are starting to get their act together.
/ Many people are highly financially and ideologically tied to Ethereum, but the recent rally of so-called ETH killer tokens has somewhat shaken that financial tie.
/ Even though ETH has gone up 10 times in the last year, for most of the DeFi veterans, ETH has gone up 100 -- 200 times in the history. Some of these ETH killers have gone up a lot in the last year, even more than ETH, and while we may not like to discuss prices in the ETH community, it's dangerous to ignore this trend.
/ That's why I think tier 2 L2 tokens like Matic, which will launch later this year, are critical. We need a way for new market participants to fully take advantage of Ethereum's upside and remain highly tied to the larger ETH ecosystem, otherwise players will have to look elsewhere.
/ Yes, people can stay on Ethereum and continue to buy, but at $2,500 per ETH, that's too high a psychological threshold for many newcomers to the crypto space. Even if they fool people into making bad decisions, they still inspire us...
/ I don't think the Ethereum community should be very worried right now, but the trend is much more serious than I personally expected. Mainly because we may be a little behind schedule, and I hope to make some progress on capacity expansion by the middle of this year.
/ The Ethereum community is willing and able to catch up, but we must not be complacent and assume that just because we are a truly decentralized infrastructure in concept, everyone will naturally come to the Ethereum community.
