Welcome to the occam. fi ecosystem -- Cardano's first publishing platform and liquidity solution
With more and more decentralized ecosystems emerging each year, keeping up with these emerging trends can feel like a full-time job for many in the blockchain industry. Among the many new ecosystems that are springing up, decentralized finance -- better known as DEFI -- has broadened our understanding of what an idyllic financial system on a blockchain could look like.
There are many new Defi products on the market, ranging from lending platforms to insurance, synthetic assets, crowdfunding, derivatives and asset management agreements. In 2020 alone, more than 230 Defi applications have been submitted on DApp Radar, with 45% of them running on the Ethereum network. Many of these projects are worth billions of dollars. But what about the agreement itself? Who is auditing, exploring, and picking the right blockchains to support the next generation of finance? Where are we likely to find the functions that drive a decentralized global financial system?
"Longevity" is a word we rarely hear in the blockchain industry. Instead, we tend to focus on short sprints, with more of a focus on completion and innovation. But innovation for innovation's sake is not necessarily a good thing. Can we really afford to "move fast and get rid of the old and get rid of the new" when billions of dollars of value are stored on the chain?
The current DApps ecosystem has major drawbacks, which are reflected in two aspects: First, it is slow, poorly inclusive and expensive. Ethereum, for example, sometimes has an average transaction fee of more than $100 due to its lack of interoperability and scalability in the native environment. The second is the centralization of nodes, which weakens one of the three pillars of blockchain and security. In the face of these flaws, a relatively mature, game-changing blockchain environment can still accommodate a wide range of participants, including ordinary users, institutions, and enterprises, without losing key essential features.
On the other hand, these issues have been plaguing the fledgling DEFI space for a long time, thus providing the impetus for us to choose a protocol that will last forever -- we're talking Cardano, of course. Caldarno is one of the most polished blockchains, and the only protocol built from the ground up based on peer-reviewed research. Not only is it built and deployed on solid code, but it has amassed one of the largest, strongest, and most intelligent communities in the blockchain space, with more than a million users across its major social platforms.
Until recently, ADA holders could not pledge their share of the agreement to generate revenue, thus limiting ADA as a store of value and limiting its usefulness. In fact, there are just over 16 billion Ada tokens in circulation; At the same time, about 22.7 billion ADAs have been pledged and locked into the agreement through equity pledges. However, equity pledges and commissions can generate a lot of returns and create multiple usage scenarios.
So this is a huge untapped pool of liquidity from which the Caldano community can benefit. What's more, Caldano itself has the potential to eventually grow into one of the largest DEFI ecosystems in the world -- and it's paving the way for an influx of new users and businesses. With the recent completion of Mary's hard fork, DEFI will finally be enabled on the Caldano chain, providing a unique opportunity for the full use of Caldano's unique core components. When this liquidity is available, we expect hundreds of projects to start looking for effective ways to raise money to get Caldano online.
The problem is compounded by the traditional centralised fundraising model. The traditional centralized crowdfunding model has high cost, narrow audience, and is vulnerable to the adverse impact of giant monopoly. This results in a project that is not flexible enough to include the vast number of application scenarios created by a decentralized autonomous ecosystem like DEFI. To draw a line under these sub-optimal solutions in Caldano's ecosystem, we have brought Occamrazer, a decentralized fundraising tool based on Caldano, which will serve as the foundation for a new ecosystem.
The Catalyst program introduced a new, decentralized way of financing Caldano's startups and brilliant ideas. But Catalyst, while a remarkable achievement for the Caldano ecosystem, still doesn't fully meet the funding needs of the companies, institutions and professional start-up teams built on Caldano's foundation. To do this, we need to go one step further, and that's where Occamrazer is positioned.
Occamrazer is a decentralised fundraiser, or publishing platform, with a full suite of compliance and regulatory technology tools, a feature rich user experience designed for all fundraising activities, and is key to unrolling liquidity in Cardano's ecosystem.
Decentralized financing tools based on Automated Market Makers (AMM) such as Initial Dex Offering (ID0), We have introduced a new set of protocols because of the reputation for extreme volatility, front-running, and lack of clarity about the funding process. The continuity and discreteness inherent in this series of protocols can fill this gap and provide smart contract tools designed for a variety of funding scenarios. Covered scenarios include: private and public fundraising, oversubscription and undersubscription, homogeneous or non-homogeneous tokens, etc.
At occam. fi, we will never cut corners or take shortcuts, which is why we will not release Occamrazer separately. In addition to Occamrazer, the Occam.fi ecosystem will be supported by a decentralized exchange that will soon come online, multiple credit markets, and a single governance layer that is based on the DAO and well designed.
The OCCAM ecosystem and code base will be independently audited by the industry's leading blockchain security companies. Occam has committed to conducting audits by Swiss firm Scalable Solutions, as well as scheduling additional audits as needed between major development milestones.
This ecosystem will be driven by the OCC token, which will enable a number of unique mechanisms to be implemented and a strong flow of monetized utility for its holders. Let's take a look at some of the planned token mechanisms.
To support the OCCAM ecosystem, we will release OCC tokens. OCC tokens will have access to high-quality pools of liquid funds and will also be used to pledge equity. In addition, the OCC will continue to diversify the ecosystem, allowing the OCCAM to reinvest some of the project allocations back into the ecosystem -- and the resulting revenue will be airdropped to the OCC token holders.
This feature is unique to Occam and alone will open up a cascade of rewarding opportunities for token holders and ecosystem participants to ensure that Occam is a thriving and self-sustaining and rich ecosystem.
If you participate in one pool of liquidity and then withdraw the liquidity, the transaction fees you pay for this will be distributed to other pool participants, thus encouraging a long-term equity pledge economy. In addition, we also plan to add tokens raised through the Occamrazer pool to the airdrop to OCC token holders.
Many of you may be wondering what Caldano components are currently being used to develop the Occam Ecosystem? Due to the lack of currently available transaction infrastructure on Caldano, we will first issue OCC in the form of ERC-20 tokens for transactions.
However, since we are an ecosystem built for Caldano, we will issue OCC in the form of Caldano native tokens at the same time to ensure that the next step of our targeted cross-chain bridge can be interchangeable across chains. More information on this will be revealed later. Soon, OCC tokens will be available through third-party transaction providers, with details to be announced shortly. We will provide more details in the coming weeks.
None of this, however, detract from the fact that the entire Occam ecosystem under development has been built for Caldano. Through Occamrazer, we will support and facilitate the acceleration of Caldano's previous projects, and our vision is aligned with the vision of the community of Caldano.
As a powerful, rich, and cleverly designed solution, Occamrazer arrives just in time to revolutionize the way decentralized projects are funded and traded.
Occam offers affordable, safe and quick solutions for projects on Caldano, without ignoring regulatory requirements. In a secure and compliant environment, every user will be able to participate and freely use all kinds of assets in a harmonious ecosystem based on incentives.
