According to a previous research report, Flashbots classified and analyzed transactions since January 2020 and found that at least $314 million worth of MEV could be extracted since January 1, 2020. Of that, about 88.5 percent was captured by DEFI traders and bots. The remaining 11.5 percent was captured by miners in the form of MEV transactions, and a total of $4.5 million in Gas fees was wasted, equivalent to 45,000 Ethereum blocks.
